health

health is a skill for Claude Code from hamzaPixl/pixl-ai. It costs 59 tokens per session (1,895 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project health dashboard that finds the quality tools already configured in a codebase, runs them, and combines their results into a score from 0 to 10. It also records how that score changes over time.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check code quality, review the current state of a project, and track whether quality is improving or declining.
Why use it?
It replaces separate commands for type checking, linting, tests, and dead-code checks with one view of the project's overall condition.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00059 $0.01895
Opus 5.5 $0.00024 $0.00758
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00379
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00189

Security

Grade A, and why

health scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Overview

Unified code quality dashboard that wraps existing toolchain into a composite 0-10 score with trend tracking. Replaces ad-hoc "run lint, run tests, run typecheck" with a single command that scores and tracks over time.

How this differs from other skills:

  • /test-runner — runs tests only. This skill scores the full quality picture.
  • /code-review — reviews a PR diff. This skill audits the whole project state.
  • /cto-review — architectural critique. This skill is a quantitative health metric.

Step 1: Discover Toolchain

Detect available quality tools by checking config files:

Tool Detection Category
TypeScript tsconfig.json Type safety
Pyright/mypy pyrightconfig.json, mypy.ini, pyproject.toml [tool.pyright] Type safety
ESLint .eslintrc*, eslint.config.* Lint
Biome biome.json Lint + format
Ruff ruff.toml, pyproject.toml [tool.ruff] Lint
pytest pytest.ini, pyproject.toml [tool.pytest] Tests
vitest/jest vitest.config.*, jest.config.* Tests
knip knip.json, knip.ts Dead code
vulture pyproject.toml [tool.vulture] Dead code (Python)
shellcheck *.sh files present Shell quality

Report which tools were found and which are missing.

Step 2: Run Checks

Run each discovered tool and capture pass/fail + metrics. Use --quiet flags and suppress success output.

Type Safety (weight: 30%)

# TypeScript
npx tsc --noEmit 2>&1 | tail -5
# Count errors
npx tsc --noEmit 2>&1 | grep -c "error TS" || echo 0

# Python
pyright --outputjson 2>/dev/null | jq '.generalDiagnostics | length' || echo "pyright not available"

Score: 10 - min(10, error_count * 0.5) (0 errors = 10, 20+ errors = 0)

Lint (weight: 25%)

# ESLint
npx eslint . --format json 2>/dev/null | jq '[.[].errorCount] | add // 0'

# Biome
npx biome check . --reporter=json 2>/dev/null | jq '.diagnostics | length'

# Ruff
ruff check . --output-format json 2>/dev/null | jq 'length'

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

health is a skill published in the GitHub repository hamzaPixl/pixl-ai (2 stars, last pushed 6mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 59 tokens to every session and 1,895 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
