appendix-writer

appendix-writer is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Haohaha-11/Paper-Writing. It costs 0 tokens per session (559 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A writing aid for organizing supporting material placed after the main paper, such as proofs, extra experiments, implementation details, or dataset information. An appendix holds useful detail without being part of the main flow.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to classify appendix material, add references from the main text, check that key claims do not rely only on the appendix, and preserve venue rules.
Why use it?
It helps keep the paper within length limits without hiding evidence needed for the main claims.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00559
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00280
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00112
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00056

Security

Grade A, and why

appendix-writer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Appendix Writer

Purpose

Organize appendix material so it supports the main paper without hiding essential claims or evidence from the main text.

When To Use

  • Preparing supplementary proofs, implementation details, extended tables, prompts, datasets, or additional figures.
  • Moving content out of the main paper due to page limits.
  • Checking whether the main text improperly depends on appendix-only evidence.

Inputs

Required:

  • target venue appendix/supplement rules;
  • main paper claim-evidence matrix;
  • candidate appendix materials;
  • main text references to appendix.

Optional:

  • supplementary file policy;
  • anonymous-review constraints;
  • camera-ready changes.

Procedure

  1. Classify appendix material: proof, implementation, extra experiment, dataset detail, failure case, prompt, ethics, or supplement.
  2. Check whether any main claim relies only on appendix evidence.
  3. Add clear cross-references from main text.
  4. Keep appendix sections searchable and self-contained.
  5. Preserve anonymity and venue supplement rules.
  6. Move non-essential detail to appendix; keep decisive evidence in main text.

Rubric

Dimension Strong Weak
Main-text independence Core claims supported in main paper Main proof hidden in appendix
Organization Clear appendix sections Dump of leftovers
Referencing Main text points to appendix Appendix unreferenced
Compliance Follows venue supplement rules Anonymous leaks or wrong file type
Reproducibility Useful implementation detail Missing key settings

Venue Adaptation

  • ICLR/NeurIPS/ICML: appendices are common for proofs, extended experiments, and reproducibility details.
  • CVPR/ECCV: supplement may include additional visual examples, videos, or implementation details; anonymity still matters.
  • AAAI: verify author-kit and supplement rules before relying on appendix.
  • TMI: supplementary file types are constrained; challenge or conference-extension materials need careful handling.
  • arXiv: appendix can be public, but ensure source package compiles cleanly.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

appendix-writer is a skill published in the GitHub repository Haohaha-11/Paper-Writing (3 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 559 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
