notion

notion is a skill for Claude Code from HybridAIOne/hybridclaw. It costs 27 tokens per session (824 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A skill for working with Notion, a workspace for pages, databases, notes, and trackers, through the Notion API. It can search, create, update, and organize that content.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find pages, read or update their content, manage databases, and maintain notes or tracking systems.
Why use it?
It removes the need to perform routine Notion workspace changes by hand or build separate API requests for each operation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Opus 5 $0.00014 $0.00412
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00165

Security

Grade B, and why

notion scanned grade B with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Notion Workspace Operations

Use the Notion API for page, block, and data-source work.

Setup

If NOTION_API_KEY is not already configured:

  1. Create an internal integration in Notion.
  2. Save the token outside the repo, usually as NOTION_API_KEY.
  3. Share the target pages or databases with that integration.

Do not assume the integration can see a page until the user confirms sharing.

API Basics

Before API calls, write a private temp curl config and register cleanup so the Notion token stays off the shell command line and the auth file is removed on exit:

AUTH_CURL="$(mktemp)"
chmod 600 "$AUTH_CURL"
trap 'rm -f "$AUTH_CURL"' EXIT INT TERM
cat >"$AUTH_CURL" <<EOF
header = "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_API_KEY"
header = "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03"
EOF

All requests need:

curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/..." -K "$AUTH_CURL"

Common Operations

Search:

curl -s -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/search" \
  -K "$AUTH_CURL" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query":"release notes"}'

Get page metadata:

curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages/PAGE_ID" -K "$AUTH_CURL"

Get page blocks:

curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/blocks/PAGE_ID/children" -K "$AUTH_CURL"

Query a data source:

curl -s -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/data_sources/DATA_SOURCE_ID/query" \
  -K "$AUTH_CURL" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"page_size":20}'

Create a page in a database:

curl -s -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages" \
  -K "$AUTH_CURL" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"parent":{"database_id":"DATABASE_ID"},"properties":{"Name":{"title":[{"text":{"content":"New item"}}]}}}'

Append blocks:

curl -s -X PATCH "https://api.notion.com/v1/blocks/PAGE_ID/children" \
  -K "$AUTH_CURL" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"children":[{"object":"block","type":"paragraph","paragraph":{"rich_text":[{"text":{"content":"Hello"}}]}}]}'

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

notion is a skill published in the GitHub repository HybridAIOne/hybridclaw (132 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 27 tokens to every session and 824 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 2 findings (asks for root, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
