Guidance for creating, editing, checking, previewing, and exporting draw.io and Mermaid diagrams. Mermaid is a text format for diagrams, while draw.io files can be edited visually.

Use it for architecture diagrams, workflow charts, Mermaid diagrams in Quarto documents, and diagram previews or exports.

It keeps diagram sources editable and helps catch layout, color, asset, and rendering problems before diagrams are shared.

1. Scope

draw.io .drawio source creation, editing, review, and export.
draw.io layout, color palette, shape vocabulary, and AWS icon usage.
Mermaid diagrams in Quarto revealjs .qmd files.
Mermaid CLI preview, %%{init}%% configuration, CSS overrides, and layout validation.
Diagram-focused scripts and reference assets.
