audit-docs-structure

audit-docs-structure is a skill for Claude Code from InstituteforDiseaseModeling/idm_standards. It costs 86 tokens per session (1,860 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for organizing technical documentation into distinct types, such as step-by-step lessons, task instructions, factual reference pages, and explanations of concepts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when writing, reviewing, or organizing documentation and its table of contents according to IDM's adaptation of the Diátaxis framework.
Why use it?
It prevents different kinds of documentation from being mixed together, making information easier to find and use.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00086 $0.01860
Opus 5 $0.00043 $0.00930
Sonnet 5 $0.00017 $0.00372
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00186

Measured 10d ago against content hash 84490380abbc, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

audit-docs-structure scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Documentation skill

Skill version: 1.2_2026.07.21

Unifies all of IDM's topic-type documentation guidance (borrowed from Diátaxis) into one Skill. Claude activates this Skill whenever documentation is written, reviewed, or improved, and new topics are added within the table of contents. It then "lazy loads" the exact documentation type guidance by opening the reference docs linked below.

IDM's guidance borrows heavily from the Diátaxis framework but diverges on TOC organization: tutorials and reference live at the top level, while how-to and explanation topics are grouped into "user guides" by subject matter (with explanation topics typically as the parent). See references/toc.md for details.

Critical workflow

REQUIRED: Before writing or reviewing ANY documentation, you MUST load the relevant documentation type reference file(s) using the Read tool.

  1. Use the compass to identify the documentation type needed (see below)
  2. Read the matching reference file(s) BEFORE writing/reviewing:
    • Learning experiences → Read references/tutorials.md
    • Task-oriented how-tos → Read references/howto.md
    • Information lookup → Read references/reference.md
    • Understanding & context → Read references/explanation.md
  3. Apply the documentation type's principles from the loaded reference
  4. Write or review documentation according to that type's standards
  5. Add the topic to the documentation set table of contents and include cross-references → Read references/toc.md

DO NOT attempt to write or review documentation without first loading the appropriate reference file(s).

The Diataxis compass

The compass is your primary decision-making tool. Consider the user's goals and needs, and ask two questions:

Question 1: Action or cognition?

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

audit-docs-structure is a skill published in the GitHub repository InstituteforDiseaseModeling/idm_standards (2 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 86 tokens to every session and 1,860 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
