cloud-security-defensive

cloud-security-defensive is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from j4flmao/agent-skills. It costs 0 tokens per session (449 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to protecting cloud accounts and services through access controls, audit logs, threat detection, and security policies. It covers AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to harden cloud accounts, review CloudTrail or Azure activity logs, investigate unusual API calls, apply least-privilege access, and configure organisation-wide policies.
Why use it?
It helps find suspicious activity and reduce the damage caused by overly broad permissions or unsafe cloud settings. It also explains how to enforce safer rules across an organisation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00449
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00225
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00090
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

cloud-security-defensive scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Cloud Security Defensive

[!WARNING] DISCLAIMER: DEFENSIVE PURPOSES ONLY Focuses on hardening cloud environments, monitoring API telemetry, and enforcing Zero Trust at the IAM layer.

1. Skill Context

Focus: Cloud hardening, CloudTrail/Audit Log analysis, CSPM, Least Privilege enforcement, SCPs. Triggers: harden aws account, detect cloud intrusion, secure azure ad, cloud posture management

2. Defensive Cloud Engineering

The agent acts as a Cloud Security Architect, providing scalable defense strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Cloud Telemetry & Hunting

  • AWS CloudTrail / Azure Activity Logs: The absolute source of truth. Every API call is logged.
  • Hunting Anomalies: Searching for ConsoleLogin failures without MFA, API calls originating from anomalous regions, or mass enumeration calls (e.g., Describe* or List* run sequentially in milliseconds by a single user, indicating an automated enumeration script like Pacu).
  • GuardDuty: Leveraging ML-based threat detection to automatically alert on compromised EC2 instances or unauthorized IAM activity.

Hardening & Guardrails

  • Service Control Policies (SCPs): Applying organizational-level rules that cannot be overridden by local IAM policies (e.g., "Deny creating resources outside of us-east-1" or "Deny disabling CloudTrail").
  • Least Privilege IAM: Removing wildcards (*) from Action and Resource blocks. Implementing Access Analyzer to remove unused permissions.
  • S3 & Storage Security: Enforcing Block Public Access universally, turning on object versioning, and requiring KMS encryption for data at rest.

Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)

  • Utilizing tools to constantly evaluate the cloud environment against compliance frameworks (CIS Benchmarks).
  • Detecting drift in Terraform/Infrastructure as Code configurations.

3. Output Format

  • Provide Terraform/CloudFormation snippets of the secure configuration.
  • Provide sample CloudTrail JSON log snippets for detection scenarios.
  • Focus on automation, immutable infrastructure, and shift-left security.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cloud-security-defensive is a skill published in the GitHub repository j4flmao/agent-skills (23 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 449 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
