report

report is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Jakeintech/waybill. It costs 210 tokens per session (2,528 once invoked), scanned C, original, MIT.

A reporting skill that turns a waybill ledger—a record of work and usage—into a short, evidence-based report for a decision-maker.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps create value reports, token pitches, sprint recaps, and similar summaries using the ledger's reporting and spending queries.
Why use it?
It provides a consistent way to summarize verified accomplishments, usage, spending, confidence, and supporting evidence without estimating numbers.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00210 $0.02528
Opus 5 $0.00105 $0.01264
Sonnet 5 $0.00042 $0.00506
Haiku 4.5 $0.00021 $0.00253

Security

Grade C, and why

report scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Tells the agent never to refusehighAnti-refusal

Suppressing the ability to decline removes a core safety control; a later harmful request then succeeds.

asks for a "bootstrap report" or their "first report" — do not pad and do not refuse. Run `"${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/waybill" bootstrap` for the zero-auth receipt; if MCP

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 188 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Report

Turn ledger facts into a report a decision-maker can verify in two minutes. Brevity is part of the credibility: one page hard cap, every section has a line budget below, and when in doubt cut the sentence, not the number. The detail level scales the budgets (config.detail_default, or --detail / the user asking for a terse or full version): terse = the headline numbers in 1–3 lines per section (never dropping unattributed %, confidence, low_confidence labels, evidence tiers, or ranges — shorter never means less honest); standard = the budgets below; full = no collapse, every receipt and caveat rendered, still one claim per line. Read skills/ledger/references/methodology.md first and enforce its language rules throughout; read references/schema.md for field semantics.

The numbers come from the engine, never from estimation:

"${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/waybill" mine --all # catch-up metering first, always
"${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/waybill" query report --from <iso> --to <iso> [--audience <a>]
"${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/waybill" query spend --from <iso> --to <iso> # spend-ledger detail
"${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/waybill" query story <KEY> # "what did KEY cost"

You write the prose; the engine writes the numbers. Never recompute or adjust a number the query returned.

Resolve the request

  • Window: default to the current sprint for "recap", the last full quarter for "quarterly", the review period the user names for a perf review, and the period since the last allocation (from config.json.allocations) for a token pitch. Confirm the window in the output header, not with a question, unless genuinely ambiguous.
  • Audience preset (D12 redaction levels):
    • token-pitch, perf-review--audience internal (keys and URLs stay; machine-local detail dropped).
    • anything the user will paste outside the org → --audience external (keys, titles, repos pseudonymized; numbers survive). Say in the footer that identifiers are pseudonymized and the internal version is available.
    • exploring their own data → self (the default).
  • Presets: token-pitch (default when the goal is more tokens), perf-review, sprint-recap, quarterly, grant-report (maintainers: what the sponsorship shipped), incident (a windowed receipts pack over an incident timeframe). (Billing paperwork belongs to the invoice skill; per-item AI-involvement statements to disclose.)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

report is a skill published in the GitHub repository Jakeintech/waybill (1 stars, last pushed 10d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 210 tokens to every session and 2,528 once invoked, about $0.0011 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it C with 1 finding (tells the agent never to refuse). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
