Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00036 | $0.01684 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00014 | $0.00674 |

Grade A, and why
unattended-agent-runs scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 178 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Unattended agent runs
Run recurring work with explicit authority, durable state, bounded resources, and recovery that does not repeat external actions.
When to use
- A scheduled process checks an inbox, calendar, task queue, or issue pool.
- A long-running agent receives recurring work from a local producer.
- A run must recover safely after a restart or context loss.
- The operator needs proof that messages, files, or other external actions landed.
When not to use
- A person is actively supervising one short task.
- The work has no stable authorization or escalation policy.
- The requested action needs a person at the moment it occurs.
- A one-off batch can use a normal interactive session.
What you need
- A scheduler or event producer.
- A supervisor that can restart the agent process or session.
- A pinned working directory and state directory.
- A notifier and a summary file that the producer can deliver.
- A send log or other readback path for external actions.
- Resource controls for memory, swap, CPU, and worker fan-out.
- A written authorization policy for external actions.
Before any external action, read the project instruction file (AGENTS.md for Codex, CLAUDE.md for Claude Code). The written policy must state who may send or change what, to whom, and when. If the policy does not authorize an action, prepare a draft or record a blocker instead of acting.
Choose the run tier
Tier 1: Fresh process for each run
Use one new process for each scheduled event. Give it one bounded task, a timeout that allows output to flush, a summary destination, and a narrow scope. This is the easiest design to inspect and replace.
Start with the repository's autonomy kit. Its process-per-run loop is a suitable starter for scheduled issue work. Treat a timeout as a cost or stall backstop, not proof that the task failed safely.
Tier 2: Persistent supervised session
What ships with it
4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

unattended-agent-runs is a skill published in the GitHub repository jamditis/claude-skills-journalism (433 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 36 tokens to every session and 1,684 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-25.
