analytics-instrumentation-plan

analytics-instrumentation-plan is a skill for Codex from jeremylongworth-source/AgentSkills. It costs 51 tokens per session (298 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A plan for deciding what product, website, or backend activity to track in analytics. It defines events, their details, user and account identities, privacy rules, and checks for data quality.

In plain words
What is it for?
Planning tracking specifications, event names and properties, identity links, consent requirements, testing, monitoring, ownership, and future changes.
Why use it?
It prevents teams from collecting inconsistent or unnecessary data that cannot answer useful questions. It also reduces privacy mistakes and unreliable reports.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00051 $0.00298
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.00149
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00030

Security

Grade A, and why

analytics-instrumentation-plan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Analytics Instrumentation Plan

Core Workflow

  1. Identify decisions and analyses the instrumentation must support.
  2. Define events, properties, identity keys, account/user relationships, source systems, and naming conventions.
  3. Map events to product states, backend actions, UI flows, and funnel steps.
  4. Add privacy, consent, PII, retention, and access considerations.
  5. Specify validation, QA, backfill, and monitoring checks.
  6. Document ownership and change-control process.

Safety Rules

  • Do not collect PII, sensitive data, or regulated data without explicit policy and reviewer approval.
  • Do not invent platform-specific event behavior without checking current docs when implementation depends on it.
  • Do not treat unvalidated instrumentation as reliable for decisions.

Deliverable Shape

For instrumentation plans, provide:

  • Decision and analysis goals
  • Event taxonomy
  • Property schema
  • Identity and account model
  • Privacy and consent notes
  • Validation and QA plan
  • Data quality monitoring
  • Ownership and change control

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
