baoyu-danger-x-to-markdown

baoyu-danger-x-to-markdown is a skill for Claude Code from JimLiu/baoyu-skills. It costs 61 tokens per session (1,916 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool that turns posts, threads and articles from X, formerly called Twitter, into Markdown files with YAML front matter, a small block of document details such as its title or date. X Articles are extracted as full content.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to save tweets, threads and X Articles as Markdown for notes, documentation, archives or later editing.
Why use it?
It gives you a saved, editable copy of X content instead of leaving it trapped in a social-media page. It can also preserve document details in a consistent form.

These are SkillSpector’s own severities. On a checked sample its high-severity flags on skills were ~96% false positives — a documented command, a public API, a “never do X” rule — so we show them as a caution to read, not a verdict. Why →

  • medium MCP Rug Pull · line 37
    npx commands without a version suffix (e.g. @1.0.0) create a rug-pull risk if the upstream server is compromised and publishes a malicious update.

  • medium Rogue Agent · line 108
    Skill establishes unauthorized persistence across sessions via cron jobs, startup scripts, or state files. Session persistence allows an attacker to maintain access beyond the current interaction.
    Fix: Remove any persistence mechanisms (cron jobs, startup scripts, state files). Skills should not maintain state across sessions without explicit user consent.
  • medium Excessive Agency · line 108
    Skill enables autonomous high-impact decisions without human-in-the-loop verification. Critical operations (destructive commands, financial transactions, data deletion) should require explicit user confirmation.
    Fix: Add human-in-the-loop confirmation for destructive, irreversible, or high-impact operations. Never auto-execute commands that modify files, send data, or alter system state.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00061 $0.01916
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.00958
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00383
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00192

Security

Grade A, and why

baoyu-danger-x-to-markdown scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 16 executable files (scripts/constants.ts, scripts/cookie-file.ts, scripts/cookies.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

User Input Tools

When this skill prompts the user, follow this tool-selection rule (priority order):

  1. Prefer built-in user-input tools exposed by the current agent runtime — e.g., AskUserQuestion, request_user_input, clarify, ask_user, or any equivalent.
  2. Fallback: if no such tool exists, emit a numbered plain-text message and ask the user to reply with the chosen number/answer for each question.
  3. Batching: if the tool supports multiple questions per call, combine all applicable questions into a single call; if only single-question, ask them one at a time in priority order.

Concrete AskUserQuestion references below are examples — substitute the local equivalent in other runtimes.

Script Directory

Scripts located in scripts/ subdirectory.

Path Resolution:

  1. {baseDir} = this SKILL.md's directory
  2. Script path = {baseDir}/scripts/main.ts
  3. Resolve ${BUN_X} runtime: if bun installed → bun; if npx available → npx -y bun; else suggest installing bun

Before any conversion, check and obtain consent.

Consent Flow

Step 1: Check consent file

# macOS
cat ~/Library/Application\ Support/baoyu-skills/x-to-markdown/consent.json

# Linux
cat ~/.local/share/baoyu-skills/x-to-markdown/consent.json

Step 2: If accepted: true and disclaimerVersion: "1.0" → print warning and proceed:

Warning: Using reverse-engineered X API. Accepted on: <acceptedAt>

Step 3: If missing or version mismatch → display disclaimer:

DISCLAIMER

This tool uses a reverse-engineered X API, NOT official.

Risks:
- May break if X changes API
- No guarantees or support
- Possible account restrictions
- Use at your own risk

Accept terms and continue?

Use AskUserQuestion with options: "Yes, I accept" | "No, I decline"

Step 4: On accept → create consent file:

{
  "version": 1,
  "accepted": true,
  "acceptedAt": "<ISO timestamp>",
  "disclaimerVersion": "1.0"
}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
