Grade A, and why
local-test scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Local testing setup
The one command that takes a clone to a verified build is
tools/setup-local-testing.ps1. It needs
PowerShell 7+ (pwsh), which runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.

It prints a PASS/WARN/FAIL line per step and exits non-zero if anything failed. Nothing is silently skipped: a step that cannot run says why and gives the command that fixes it.
The one thing to tell people first
There are two halves to verifying ShadowDusk, and the script only runs both if asked.

Only the second is the product bar (rung 4). It needs Windows and a real GPU, so it cannot run in CI and it cannot run on a Mac or Linux box. If someone says "tests pass", ask which half they ran.
Prerequisites worth pre-empting
- Both .NET 8 and .NET 10 SDKs. The shipped libraries multi-target
net8.0+net10.0, so a box with only one SDK cannot build the solution at all. This is the single most common first-run failure. dotnet tool restore— supplies the pinneddotnet-mgcb. The MGCB plugin gate and the XNBContent.Loadgate both need it. The script does this for you.python— only for the render gates' image comparisons. Irrelevant otherwise.- A DX12-capable GPU for the DX12 gates;
-SkipVulkanon the gate script for a box with no Vulkan GPU.

From the library it isdotnet run --project src/ShadowDusk.Cli -- MyShader.fx Content/MyShader.xnb /Profile:OpenGLCompiledShader.ToXnb(). The rung-4 proof isdotnet run --project validation/XnbContentLoad -c Release, which loads both a stockmgcbbuild and ours through a realContentManagerand pixel-compares.
