g-tasks

g-tasks is a skill for Claude Code from kgiwojno/g-sdd. It costs 45 tokens per session (1,438 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow that expands an implementation plan into concrete coding tasks with acceptance criteria, which are conditions that show a task is complete. The tasks are intended for coding agents to execute.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after /g-plan to generate implementation tasks for a feature, including tasks based on its PRD and project terminology.
Why use it?
It breaks a feature plan into smaller, checkable pieces with clearer expected behavior and testing details.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.01438
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00719
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00288
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00144

Security

Grade A, and why

g-tasks scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Behavior

1. Check prerequisites

Check if docs/features/ contains any feature directories. If not, stop: "No feature found. Please run /g-prd first."

If there are multiple features, list them and ask which one to generate tasks for. If there's only one, use it.

Check if the selected feature has a PLAN.md. If not, stop: "No plan found in docs/features/[name]/. Please run /g-plan first." If the feature has a PRD.md, read it for user story details and testing decisions. If it doesn't, warn: "No PRD found. Proceeding, but acceptance criteria may be less detailed." Read AGENTS.md if available. Read CONTEXT.md at the repo root if it exists — task descriptions should use the project's canonical vocabulary. CONTEXT.md is read-only at this stage: do not write to it, do not add new terms here (new terms surface in /g-prd or /g-plan interviews, not in tasks).

Verify-and-switch to the feature branch. Before any file write, ensure the working tree is on the feature branch {feature-name}. The switch is silent — invoking the stage implies the operator's intent.

Run this block literally. Do not paraphrase, shortcut on observation ("I can see we're already on the feature branch"), or skip when the current branch appears correct. The explicit run IS the spec compliance signal.

expected="{feature-name}" # from selected feature directory
current=$(git rev-parse --abbrev-ref HEAD)

if [ "$current" = "$expected" ]; then
  : # already on it
elif git show-ref --verify --quiet "refs/heads/$expected"; then
  git checkout "$expected"
else
echo "feature branch '$expected' missing — run /g-prd to create it"
  exit 1
fi

If the feature branch doesn't exist, STOP without modifying any file.

2. Parse the vertical slices

Read the Vertical Slices section from the feature's PLAN.md. Each slice becomes one task. Read the full plan for architectural context that needs to be embedded into each task. Read the PRD for user story details and testing decisions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

g-tasks is a skill published in the GitHub repository kgiwojno/g-sdd (6 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 45 tokens to every session and 1,438 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
