gsr-gate

gsr-gate is a skill for Claude Code from kmajerowicz/get-shit-right. It costs 46 tokens per session (547 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project-completion checklist that runs the build, type checks, linting, and a basic runtime test. It reports evidence for each check before code is called finished.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before claiming a GSR project works, especially for features involving file processing, data transformation, APIs, PDFs, or user interfaces.
Why use it?
A successful build alone can still hide runtime crashes or incorrect behavior. The gate requires several kinds of verification first.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.00547
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00273
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00109
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00055

Measured 5d ago against content hash 548d0aae721d, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

gsr-gate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

GSR Gate Function

The single source of truth for "done" in a GSR project. Every skill that claims completion (build, verify, debug, quick) runs this before saying so.

Gate commands

Read docs/techstack.md for a ## Gate section listing this project's exact commands. If none is recorded, default to:

  1. npm run build (or equivalent) → must pass with 0 errors
  2. npx tsc --noEmit → must report 0 TypeScript errors
  3. Lint if configured → must pass

Runtime smoke test

If the feature has a critical path (file processing, data transformation, API call, PDF generation, etc.), verify it actually runs:

  • Write and run a minimal test/script that exercises the critical path
  • If it's a UI feature, verify the dev server renders without console errors
  • Build clean ≠ works correctly. A TypeScript-clean app can still crash at runtime on undefined property access, missing imports, or wrong data shapes.

If any check fails

Fix it. Then run all checks again. Only then claim done.

Evidence format

✅ npm run build → Exit 0, 0 errors → "Build passes"
✅ npx tsc --noEmit → Exit 0 → "TypeScript clean"
✅ [critical path test] → [output] → "[what it proves]"
  • = check passed with evidence
  • = check failed — blocker
  • ⚠️ = check found a minor issue — not blocking
  • Always show the actual command, actual output summary, then the claim.

Banned completion phrases (Red Flag Language)

  • "should work", "should pass" → run the command, show the output
  • "probably works", "likely fine" → run the command, show the output
  • "seems correct", "seems to work" → run the command, show the output
  • "looks good", "I believe this passes" → run the command, show the output
  • "Done!" / "All done!" → show evidence first, then state completion
  • "It works" → show what command proved it works

If you catch yourself reaching for hedging language, you haven't verified. Run the gate function.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

gsr-gate is a skill published in the GitHub repository kmajerowicz/get-shit-right (5 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 46 tokens to every session and 547 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
