Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00017 | $0.00629 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00009 | $0.00315 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00003 | $0.00126 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00002 | $0.00063 |
Grade A, and why
kraken-paper-strategy scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 57 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
kraken-paper-strategy
Use this skill for:
- validating entry and exit logic on spot markets
- testing position sizing and simple rebalance loops
- rehearsing error handling without risk
For futures paper trading (leverage, margin, shorts, liquidation), see kraken futures paper commands. This skill covers spot paper trading only.
Limitations
Paper trading runs locally against live market prices. It simulates fees and slippage but has other limitations.
- Fees are configurable. A 0.26% taker fee (Kraken Starter tier) is applied by default. Override with
--fee-rateatworkspace create(fixed for the account's life). Real fees vary by volume tier and maker/taker status. Live maker fees are lower (0.16%). - Slippage is configurable. A flat slippage rate can be applied to market orders with
--slippage-rate(default: 0.0). Market buys fill atask * (1 + slippage_rate), sells atbid * (1 - slippage_rate). This is a conservative approximation; real slippage depends on order book depth, size, and volatility. - No partial fills or rejection. Paper orders always fill in full immediately. Live orders may partially fill, queue, or be rejected.
When presenting paper results to the user, note that partial fills and order book dynamics are not simulated. If slippage is set to 0.0 (default), remind the user that live market orders will fill at worse prices.
Baseline Workflow
kraken workspace create sandbox --capital 10000 --mode paper --currency USD --slippage-rate 0.001 -o json 2>/dev/null
export KRAKEN_WORKSPACE=sandbox
kraken paper buy BTCUSD 0.01 -o json 2>/dev/null
kraken workspace status -o json 2>/dev/null
kraken paper sell BTCUSD 0.005 --type limit --price 70000 -o json 2>/dev/null
kraken paper orders -o json 2>/dev/null
kraken paper history -o json 2>/dev/null
Reset Between Runs
kraken workspace reset -o json --yes 2>/dev/null
Migration Rule
Only move a strategy to live trading after:
- repeated paper runs with stable behavior
- explicit user sign-off
--validatechecks pass for live order payloads
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

kraken-paper-strategy is a skill published in the GitHub repository krakenfx/kraken-cli (715 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 17 tokens to every session and 629 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
