invalid-strict

invalid-strict is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from lorem-dev/skillkeeper-test-repo. It costs 18 tokens per session (403 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A deliberately invalid skill manifest used for testing validation behavior. A manifest is the file that describes a skill and its requirements.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it as a negative test fixture for the skill resolver and repository linter.
Why use it?
It checks that malformed requirements are rejected clearly rather than being silently accepted or misinterpreted.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00018 $0.00403
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00201
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00081
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00040

Measured 4d ago against content hash 76ae6d628a3e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

invalid-strict scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

invalid-strict

This skill is expected to fail resolution. It is a negative fixture, and the second of the two in this repository - the other is deep-nesting/l2/l3/l4/too-deep-skill.

skillkeeper.requires is a scalar where a list of strings is required. The namespaced block is the strict half of the two spellings: a malformed value there is refused rather than coerced, and refusing it means the whole manifest fails to parse, so the skill does not resolve.

Contrast the flat field, which is lenient: requires: oops at the top level would be read as a one-element list, and an unusable entry would be dropped with a note while the skill survived. Strictness is the point of the namespaced block, and this fixture is what pins it.

Expected behaviour

The resolver reports one warning naming this manifest:

Skipping invalid requires/invalid-strict/SKILL.md: "skillkeeper.requires" must
be a list of strings

repo lint reclassifies it as SK003, an error, with no skill path - there is no resolved skill to attribute it to:

SK003: Skipping invalid requires/invalid-strict/SKILL.md:
"skillkeeper.requires" must be a list of strings

Because this skill never resolves, skillkeeper skill install invalid-strict fails with Skill not found in any tracked repository, and it is absent from skill list output for the repository. Nothing else in the requires group references it, so no other skill reports an SK001 on its account.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

invalid-strict is a skill published in the GitHub repository lorem-dev/skillkeeper-test-repo (2 stars, last pushed 11d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 18 tokens to every session and 403 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
