text-hook-skill

text-hook-skill is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from lorem-dev/skillkeeper-test-repo. It costs 19 tokens per session (446 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A test skill for installing and removing a single raw-text hook in OpenCode, an AI coding agent, using marked sections in a configuration file.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to test append-mode hook installation, replacement on reinstall, delimiter escaping, and removal after surrounding text changes.
Why use it?
It checks that installation is repeatable, that existing text is preserved, and that uninstalling removes only the intended section.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00019 $0.00446
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00223
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00045

Measured 4d ago against content hash 848adeae8ff3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

text-hook-skill scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

text-hook-skill

Install this skill for opencode, the one built-in agent whose hook strategy is delimited-text:

skillkeeper skill install text-hook-skill --agent opencode --allow-hooks

What this fixture covers

  • The single-hook layout, hooks/HOOK.md with its payload as a sibling rather than hooks/<hookName>/HOOK.md. Both layouts resolve; json-hooks-skill covers the named one.
  • The delimited-text strategy end to end: SkillKeeper wraps the payload in a region with the comment token #, carrying a stable delimiterId.
  • Region removal by delimiterId on uninstall, which must work even if the surrounding file changed in the meantime.
  • Append-mode insertion. Install twice into the same file (a second agent, or a reinstall) and check the region is replaced, not duplicated.
  • Encapsulation. region.txt deliberately contains text that looks like a SkillKeeper delimiter; install must neutralize it so it cannot be mistaken for a region boundary, and reverse that on read.
  • No GUIDE.md and no RULES.md, so this skill writes to the config file without touching the guidance file at all.

A caveat worth knowing

opencode's delimited-text target is opencode.json, and the comment token is #. JSON has no comment syntax, so a region inserted there makes the file invalid JSON. That is a property of SkillKeeper's own agent mapping, not of this fixture.

The practical consequence: opencode's MCP writer parses opencode.json as JSON, so do not install this hook and an opencode MCP preset into the same project at the same time - test them separately, or expect the second operation to fail on a parse error.

Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
