shreyas-doshi

shreyas-doshi is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from marcos-sponton/frameworks-as-skills. It costs 257 tokens per session (2,336 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of product-management decision frameworks from Shreyas Doshi, a product leader. The frameworks cover prioritizing work, identifying launch risks, understanding team effectiveness, and choosing between research and building.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prioritize tasks, run a launch pre-mortem, diagnose why work feels unproductive, resolve product-team disagreements, and weigh customer research against implementation.
Why use it?
It gives names and structures to common product decisions, so teams can compare priorities, risks, impact, execution, and communication more clearly.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00257 $0.02336
Opus 5 $0.00129 $0.01168
Sonnet 5 $0.00051 $0.00467
Haiku 4.5 $0.00026 $0.00234

Security

Grade A, and why

shreyas-doshi scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Shreyas Doshi's PM Frameworks

Shreyas Doshi is a product leader (former PM at Stripe, Twitter, Google, Yahoo -- Stripe's fourth PM, later its first PM manager) who has built one of the most widely-cited collections of product management frameworks through Twitter/X threads, his Substack newsletter, podcast appearances (including multiple episodes on Lenny's Podcast), and a Maven course on Product Sense. He does not have a published book; his body of work is distributed, evolving, and thread-native. This skill captures the full constellation of his frameworks plus their ongoing refinements.

When this skill activates

Use this skill when the user is:

  • Trying to prioritize their work and figure out where to spend energy (LNO framework).
  • Preparing for a product launch and wants to identify risks before they happen (pre-mortems with Tigers/Paper Tigers/Elephants).
  • Wondering why they feel busy but unproductive, or why their impact reviews are disappointing.
  • Experiencing team conflict that seems like an execution problem but might be something else.
  • Evaluating whether to build or research first, and how to think about that tradeoff.
  • Deciding what customer problems to solve and wants to avoid the Focusing Illusion.
  • Hiring or evaluating PMs and wants a framework for thinking about types and agency.
  • Trying to communicate more effectively with executives vs. team members.
  • Developing product sense or taste as a PM skill.
  • Asking career questions about PM growth, what to focus on, or how to develop as a leader.

Do NOT use this skill when:

  • The user wants a formal strategic choice cascade (Where to Play / How to Win) -- that's Roger Martin's Playing to Win territory. Shreyas operates at the PM/team level, not the corporate strategy level.
  • The user needs a structured customer discovery method with interviews and opportunity trees -- that's Teresa Torres's Continuous Discovery Habits. Shreyas's CPSR complements CDH but doesn't replace it.
  • The user is building a full organizational strategy document. Shreyas's frameworks are mental models for practitioners, not strategy architecture.
  • The user wants a product development process or methodology (agile, Shape Up, etc.). Shreyas explicitly values judgment over process.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
