define-brand-system

define-brand-system is a skill for Claude Code from markmhendrickson/ateles. It costs 0 tokens per session (3,369 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guided process for researching and drafting a product brand system, including its name, visual identity, design rules, and motion direction.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for brand identity, naming or renaming, logo and type guidance, design-system rules, and visual direction.
Why use it?
It keeps brand work grounded in product evidence and separates research and review from applying an approved brand or producing final media.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.03369
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.01348

Security

Grade A, and why

define-brand-system scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 25d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

define-brand-system

Define a reviewable, product-grounded brand system through a complete upstream evidence chain. Use this when a product needs new or regenerated brand guidance, visual identity, design-system rules, logo/type/motion contracts, or cinematic direction. Do not use it for applying an already-approved brand to a page or generating production media.

Outcome and boundary

Produce one provisional canonical brand-guideline draft, an evidence-bearing internal review projection, and a public-safe projection. The skill does not settle a category, settle a name, approve a brand, apply copy to public sites, generate production media, deploy, merge, release, or waive a gate. Review-stage candidate renders made under the exploration gates in stage 7 are evidence for an operator choice, not production media; cinematic production stays blocked as described in stage 9.

Current brand files, live UI, the incumbent name, earlier style explorations, and operator feedback are inputs, not automatically the baseline. Mark inherited guidance as observed, provisional, or approved according to its actual authority.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
