remotion-video

remotion-video is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from memi-design/design-skills. It costs 23 tokens per session (341 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Remotion workflow pack for building product videos in React, a tool for creating web interfaces with code. It covers project setup, previewing, rendering, and handing videos to a renderer.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold React video projects, preview compositions, render MP4 files, and prepare stable inputs for backend rendering.
Why use it?
It gives video projects a consistent structure and render settings, reducing setup mistakes and unclear handoffs.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00341
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00170
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

remotion-video scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Remotion Video

Use this Note when the output should be a React-coded video project. Prefer a real Remotion scaffold over static storyboard prose when Studio is asked to preview, render, or hand off a video.

Current Workflow

  1. Create a project with package.json, remotion.config.ts, src/index.ts, src/Root.tsx, and a storyboard module.
  2. Preview with npx remotion studio src/index.ts.
  3. Render with npx remotion render src/index.ts <composition-id> <output>.
  4. For backend rendering, use Remotion's renderer APIs only after the project has a stable composition id, width, height, fps, duration, and props schema.

Scaffold Rules

  • Keep the default composition id stable: MemoireVideo.
  • Store generated projects under .memoire/videos/<id>.
  • Put the render output under .memoire/videos/<id>/dist/<id>.mp4.
  • Use React and Remotion primitives for timeline logic; avoid ad hoc DOM timers.
  • Include prefers-reduced-motion or low-motion alternates when the output will also be embedded in the Studio UI.

Quality Bar

  • Every scene has a purpose: hook, proof, product action, result, CTA.
  • Use transform and opacity for core motion.
  • Reserve camera-like motion for product explanation, not decoration.
  • Verify text fits 16:9 and 9:16 crops before rendering social variants.
Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
