call-for-speakers-digest

call-for-speakers-digest is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from microsoft/cat-agent-skills. It costs 113 tokens per session (3,078 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A weekly digest of open conference calls for speakers, also called CFPs, matched to a person's topics. It can produce the digest as an HTML email when the required search, code, and email tools are connected.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building a speaker profile, finding relevant conferences, checking submission deadlines, and preparing a recurring list of speaking opportunities.
Why use it?
It removes the need to repeatedly search conference websites for events still accepting speaker submissions. When those tools are unavailable, it presents the results as formatted chat text instead.

About the project

microsoft/cat-agent-skills is a static website that catalogs reusable instruction sets and related packages for AI agents. People use it to search, filter, rate, and download skills for Cowork, Copilot Studio, and Scout, along with Copilot plugins and Scout automations. The catalogue entries are the skills, instructions, plugins, and settings displayed by the site.

Skill establishes unauthorized persistence across sessions via cron jobs, startup scripts, or state files. Session persistence allows an attacker to maintain access beyond the current interaction.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00113 $0.03078
Opus 5 $0.00056 $0.01539
Sonnet 5 $0.00023 $0.00616
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00308

Security

Grade A, and why

call-for-speakers-digest scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Call for Speakers Digest

Compatibility

Requires web search. Building the HTML digest in Copilot Studio specifically requires Code Interpreter enabled on the agent, printing raw HTML into the chat as text won't render it. Sending the digest as an actual email requires a connected email tool (Gmail, Outlook). Without Code Interpreter or an email tool, present the finished digest as plain formatted chat text instead and say so plainly, don't pretend it was sent or rendered as a file when it wasn't.

Step 1: Build the speaker profile (first run only)

Ask for, and remember, this profile so it doesn't need to be re-collected every week:

  • Check whether the topics collectively sit inside one bigger platform or ecosystem, and offer to broaden to it. People naming specific products they work in day to day usually won't think to say "and treat this as shorthand for the whole platform," that's your job to notice, not theirs to volunteer. If the topics given all live under one identifiable umbrella (Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Agent 365 are all Microsoft 365, for example), say so plainly and ask whether to search that entire ecosystem rather than staying narrow to just the named products, since a huge amount of genuinely relevant content lives at conferences and events branded at the platform level rather than the specific-product level, and staying narrow risks silently missing most of it. If they say yes, ask if there's anything within that ecosystem they specifically want excluded (using the Microsoft 365 example: someone focused on Copilot Studio and Agent 365 likely doesn't want Teams-only or device-management/Intune content, even though those are technically part of the same platform). Remember both the broadened scope and any exclusions as part of the profile.

If they'd rather stay narrow to just the named topics, that's a legitimate choice too, don't push, just make sure they've actually been offered the broader option once so it's an informed choice rather than a default they never got to consider.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
