readiness-check

readiness-check is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from microsoft/cat-agent-skills. It costs 54 tokens per session (319 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A store-readiness checker that compares a promotion campaign with a store's requirements, fixtures, and shelf prices. It checks whether the right items apply, whether work is complete, and whether prices conflict.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps answer whether a store is ready for a campaign, identify missing signs or fixtures, and detect shelf prices that conflict with promotional prices.
Why use it?
It finds launch gaps and unsafe price changes before a promotion starts. A price conflict is kept visible rather than treated as a missing task.

About the project

microsoft/cat-agent-skills is a static website that catalogs reusable instruction sets and related packages for AI agents. People use it to search, filter, rate, and download skills for Cowork, Copilot Studio, and Scout, along with Copilot plugins and Scout automations. The catalogue entries are the skills, instructions, plugins, and settings displayed by the site.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00054 $0.00319
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00128
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00064
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

readiness-check scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/readiness_check.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Readiness Check

Purpose

Deterministic readiness: applicability (#1.1), completeness (#2.1), fixture conflicts (#4.1), price conflicts (#3.1/#3.2).

When to use

After store-map in every run.

Inputs

pack.json + store.json + shelf-prices.json.

Steps

  1. Validate against the contract.
  2. Run scripts/readiness_check.py --pack pack.json --store store.json --prices shelf-prices.json --out checked.json
  3. Quote statuses and the completeness % verbatim. A PRICE CONFLICT (promo >= shelf) blocks the shelf change - it is the top mispricing pattern, never "probably a typo, proceed".

Output

checked.json - the {readiness} hop.

Grounding requirements

Every item cites the pack line; price conflicts cite the price file rows.

Constraints

  • All tests in the engine; a conflict is never reclassified as missing to make the store look fixable.

Escalation / uncertainty

Fixture and price conflicts escalate to HQ; the store cannot resolve them locally (#4.1).

Files

What ships with it

5 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
