In plain words
What is it for?
It is for checking buying power, net liquidation value, margin, open positions, largest holdings, concentration, risk level, and warnings at the start of a trading session or before order evaluation.
Why use it?
It gives the agent a consistent view of the account before discussing or evaluating a trade without changing anything in the account.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00042 $0.00551
Opus 5 $0.00021 $0.00275
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00110
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00055

Measured 12d ago against content hash 45fe016ab806, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ibkr-portfolio-snapshot scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IBKR Portfolio Snapshot

Use this skill at the start of any trading session or before evaluating a proposed order. It fetches the canonical read-only view of account health without touching execution.

When to Use

  • User asks about buying power, exposure, margin, or current positions
  • Starting a session to trade or monitor the portfolio
  • Before calling ibkr-evaluate-order
  • As a precursor to ibkr_get_portfolio_risk

Workflow

  1. Call ibkr_get_account_summary — get buying power, net liquidation, margin
  2. Call ibkr_get_positions — get all open positions with avg price, market value, unrealized P&L
  3. Call ibkr_get_portfolio_risk — get concentration by symbol, margin utilisation, risk level, and warnings

Return a formatted table with:

  • Net liquidation, buying power, maintenance margin
  • Top 3 concentrations by symbol
  • Overall risk level
  • Any margin or concentration warnings

Guardrails

  • This skill is read-only. Do not call execution or approval tools.
  • Do not assume the account is in a specific mode (paper/live) — always show the trading status if relevant.
  • If any call fails, return what was successfully retrieved plus the error.

Output Contract

Returns a structured summary:

Account: <id>
Currency: <currency>

Balances:
  Net Liquidation: <value>
  Buying Power: <value>
  Maintenance Margin: <value>

Positions: <count> open positions
  <Symbol> | <qty> shares | <marketValue> | <unrealizedP&L>

Risk Overview:
  Margin Utilisation: <pct>%
Largest Position: <symbol> (<pct>% of net liq)
  Risk Level: <low|medium|high|critical>
  Warnings: <list or "None">

Tool naming: this server registers its tools unprefixed (get_positions). OpenCode exposes an MCP tool to the agent as <server-key>_<tool-name>, so the ibkr_ names below assume the server is registered under the key ibkr. See the permission block in .opencode/agents/IBKR-Stockbroker.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
