Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00128 $0.02124
Opus 5 $0.00064 $0.01062
Sonnet 5 $0.00026 $0.00425
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00212

Security

Grade A, and why

academic-writing-core scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Academic Writing Core

This is the master orchestrator for all academic writing tasks. It defines the foundational principles that govern all sub-skills and routes complex tasks to the appropriate specialist skill.

Core Philosophy

Academic writing is NOT a single style. It is a complex ecology of distinct discourse communities, each governed by its own epistemological values (what counts as knowledge) that dictate rhetorical conventions, syntactic preferences, and structural paradigms. Before producing any academic text, establish:

  1. Discipline — Which field? (STEM / Social Sciences / Humanities / Law / Medicine / Business)
  2. Paper Type — What genre? (Essay / Research Paper / Dissertation / Review / Report)
  3. Citation Style — Which format? (APA / MLA / Chicago / IEEE / Vancouver / Harvard)
  4. Audience — Experts in the field? Interdisciplinary? Instructors?
  5. Regional Tradition — US English or UK English?

Discipline-Specific Conventions at a Glance

Humanities (Literature, History, Philosophy, Art History)

  • Voice: Active voice preferred — emphasizes human agency and interpretation
  • Evidence: Direct quotation is primary evidence; exact wording of sources is deeply valued
  • Tone: Reflective, interpretive, argumentative; nuanced close reading
  • Citation: MLA (literature), Chicago NB (history/arts)
  • Key genres: Literary analysis, historical monograph, philosophical argument essay
  • First-person: Generally permitted for interpretive stance

Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Political Science)

  • Voice: Mix; APA recommends active ("We conducted") for clarity
  • Evidence: Paraphrase and synthesis of existing research dominates; statistics
  • Tone: Strictly objective; extensive exploration of complex social phenomena
  • Citation: APA 7th (psychology, education), Chicago Author-Date (political science)
  • Key genres: Empirical research report, literature review, case study
  • First-person: Permitted in APA 7th ("We found that...")

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
