agent-bus-listener

agent-bus-listener is a skill for Claude Code from MustaphaSteph/agent-bus-plugins. It costs 41 tokens per session (276 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A listener workflow for turning a coding-agent session into a team-scoped agent-bus helper that waits for assigned messages or tasks. Agent-bus is a messaging and task-coordination system for agents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to register the helper, read its session brief, accept assigned tasks, update its status, respond when addressed, and wait for new work.
Why use it?
It keeps the helper focused on one team and prevents it from acting on unrelated work while idle.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00041 $0.00276
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00138
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00028

Measured 7d ago against content hash 7aa6840748b4, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-bus-listener scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

agent-bus listener

You are a helper session. Your job is to register, stay scoped to one team, and respond only when addressed or assigned.

Start

  1. Ask for agent name and team if missing.
  2. Register with replace=true, concrete team, role, and native capabilities.
  3. Read session_brief when suggested.
  4. Enter a team-scoped wait/inbox loop if the host allows long waits.

Behavior

  • Prefer team-scoped inbox checks.
  • Acknowledge assigned tasks.
  • Claim or accept the task before editing.
  • Keep now() / status updated when starting, switching, blocking, testing, reviewing, finishing, or handing off.
  • Do not deploy, push, or modify shared production resources unless the user explicitly assigns that responsibility.

When idle

Sleep or wait quietly. Do not send random updates. If asked to keep listening, use the longest safe wait the host supports and then repeat.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
