Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5 | $0.00083 | $0.01048 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00042 | $0.00524 |

Grade A, and why
dream-thinking scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Dream Thinking
Use a simulated sleep → dream → wake frame to see recent experience from an unfamiliar angle. No actual sleep, waiting, overnight processing, or privileged insight occurs. Imagery can generate hypotheses; it is never evidence by itself.
Use this as an explicitly requested, orthogonal creative-retrospective skill alongside relevant domain guidance. It does not require a prior thinking or recursive-thinking pass. Use those skills instead for first-pass decisions or adversarial review.
Inputs and boundaries
- Use only source material the user supplies or that you inspect within the authorized task scope. Treat prior dream logs as source only when the user supplies them.
- Do not invent earlier sessions, recurring motifs, or source events.
- Do not attribute unprovided feelings, motives, memories, or causal explanations to people as facts. Symbolic atmosphere is allowed when it is clearly part of the simulated scene.
- Default to conversation-only output. Never save a log, write memory, or persist motifs unless the user explicitly asks and identifies the destination or approved memory scope.
- Treat ordinary retrospectives, incident postmortems, handoffs, and factual summaries as adjacent work that should not activate this skill without an explicit dream or metaphor request.
Defaults and modifiers
Default to a quick dream: one compact scene, its mapping, one grounded hypothesis, and a next observation or action.
- Tone: nightmare or risk-focused; alignment-focused; balanced by default.
- Depth: quick by default; use a full cycle of one to three scenes only when requested or when distinct patterns, tensions, or contrasts genuinely benefit from juxtaposition.
- Focus: use the named topic; otherwise use the smallest set of recent material that contains a meaningful pattern, tension, or contrast.
Workflow
- Prepare. Identify the source events, tensions, unanswered questions, or repeated patterns. Keep the set small and factual.
- Check fit. If no meaningful pattern, tension, or contrast exists, or imagery would not change the interpretation, use the brief reflection fallback.
- Dream. Recombine source elements into a concrete scene that preserves important relationships. Prefer one strong scene over several decorative ones.
- Map. Show which source element maps to each important symbol. If a symbol could fit almost any situation, replace or remove it.
- Interpret cautiously. Ground the hypothesis in the source material. For a conclusion that could materially affect a decision, state supporting evidence, a plausible alternative, and what could verify or falsify it. For low-stakes creative reflection, one concise grounding note is enough.
- Wake. Convert the useful hypothesis into a changed understanding, observation to watch, or next action. Drop imagery that changes neither understanding, attention, nor action.
- Record only when requested. If the user asks for a reusable log, read references/dream-log-template.md and emit it in the conversation. Persist it only with explicit destination-specific authorization.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

dream-thinking is a skill published in the GitHub repository n-n-code/n-n-code-skills (4 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 83 tokens to every session and 1,048 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
