netmind-transcribe

netmind-transcribe is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from NetMindAI-Open/NarraNexus. It costs 58 tokens per session (488 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A skill that turns audio files or audio URLs into written text using NetMind's Whisper speech-recognition model. Whisper is software that converts spoken audio into a transcript.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for voice notes, meeting recordings, and other WAV, FLAC, OGG, AIFF, or MP3 files or URLs, then use the transcript in a larger task.
Why use it?
It lets an agent read recordings when the chat system cannot listen to the supplied audio file or link.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00058 $0.00488
Opus 5 $0.00029 $0.00244
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00098
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00049

Security

Grade A, and why

netmind-transcribe scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/transcribe.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

NetMind Transcribe — audio-to-text fallback

Transcribe an audio file or audio URL to text using openai/whisper served by NetMind.

When to use

  • The user shares an audio file (wav / flac / ogg / aiff / mp3) or a link to one and asks what it says, or you need the content for a larger task.
  • Note: voice messages arriving through IM channels are usually transcribed by the platform already — use this skill for audio FILES in the workspace or audio URLs.

How to use

python3 skills/netmind-transcribe/scripts/transcribe.py <audio_path_or_url>

Examples:

python3 skills/netmind-transcribe/scripts/transcribe.py files/meeting.mp3
python3 skills/netmind-transcribe/scripts/transcribe.py "https://example.com/audio.wav"

The transcript is printed to stdout.

Configuration

  • NETMIND_API_KEY — injected automatically for NetMind-powered users; can be overridden in the Skill tab's config panel.
  • NETMIND_NATIVE_BASE (optional) — defaults to https://api.netmind.ai.
  • NETMIND_BASE_URL (optional) — OpenAI-compatible base, defaults to https://api.netmind.ai/inference-api/openai/v1.

Known limitations

  • Audio URLs work reliably (NetMind's async Whisper worker fetches the URL). The URL must be publicly reachable by NetMind's servers.
  • Local files are attempted through NetMind's OpenAI-compatible transcription endpoint, which is currently unstable server-side. If it fails, the script says so — offer the user the URL route, or (in cloud deployments) rely on the platform's built-in voice transcription.
Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
