aave-lending-guide

aave-lending-guide is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from nirholas/three.ws. It costs 34 tokens per session (1,251 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guide to Aave, a decentralised lending service where users deposit assets to earn interest or use them as collateral for borrowing. It explains health factors, liquidation, flash loans, and other lending rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to explain or design Aave supply and borrowing flows, assess lending parameters, manage health factors, use flash loans, or compare Aave deployments across chains.
Why use it?
It helps developers understand how borrowing risk changes as asset prices and interest rates move. It also explains how to avoid a position being liquidated, meaning forcibly closed when its collateral no longer covers the debt.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.01251
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00626
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00250
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00125

Security

Grade A, and why

aave-lending-guide scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Aave Lending Guide

When to use this skill

Use when the user asks about:

  • How to use Aave for lending or borrowing
  • Understanding Aave's risk parameters
  • Managing health factor and avoiding liquidation
  • Using Aave's E-mode for correlated assets
  • Flash loan use cases and mechanics
  • Comparing Aave deployments across chains

Protocol Knowledge

1. Aave Core Mechanics

How Aave works:

  • Supply: Deposit assets to earn interest. Supplied assets can optionally be used as collateral.
  • Borrow: Use supplied collateral to borrow other assets. Pay variable or stable interest.
  • Interest rates: Algorithmically determined by supply/demand (utilization rate)
  • aTokens: When you supply, you receive aTokens (aUSDC, aETH) that accrue interest continuously — your balance goes up over time
  • Debt tokens: When you borrow, variable debt tokens track your growing debt

2. Key Parameters Per Asset

Each asset on Aave has specific risk parameters set by governance:

Parameter Meaning Typical Range
LTV (Loan-to-Value) Max borrowing power per collateral dollar 50-85%
Liquidation Threshold Debt/collateral ratio triggering liquidation 65-90%
Liquidation Penalty Bonus paid to liquidators from collateral 5-15%
Reserve Factor Percentage of interest going to Aave treasury 10-30%
Supply Cap Maximum amount that can be supplied Varies
Borrow Cap Maximum amount that can be borrowed Varies

3. Health Factor Management

The health factor is the most critical metric for borrowers:

Health Factor = (Collateral * Liquidation Threshold) / Total Debt

  • HF > 2.0: Safe — significant buffer before liquidation
  • HF 1.5-2.0: Comfortable — monitor during volatile periods
  • HF 1.1-1.5: Caution — consider adding collateral or repaying debt
  • HF < 1.1: Danger — liquidation imminent
  • HF = 1.0: Liquidation triggered

To improve health factor:

  • Add more collateral (supply more assets)
  • Repay part of the debt
  • Swap borrowed asset for one with lower volatility

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
