Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00096 | $0.02318 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00038 | $0.00927 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00019 | $0.00464 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00232 |
Grade A, and why
developer-experience scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 185 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Make Contributing Effortless
The single biggest factor in whether someone contributes to a project is how fast they can get a working development environment. If clone-to-passing-tests takes more than 60 seconds, every additional minute costs potential contributors. FastAPI, Pydantic, and httpx all converge on the same pattern: one prerequisite (uv), one command (uv sync --group dev), and every common task wrapped in a Makefile target. Invest in developer experience early -- every minute spent here pays back tenfold in contributor time saved.
One-Command Dev Setup
Target clone-to-running-tests in under 60 seconds. The modern standard uses uv with a committed lock file.
git clone https://github.com/org/my-package
cd my-package
uv sync --group dev # Creates venv, installs package + all dev deps
uv run pytest # Tests pass on first try
What makes this possible:
- Commit
uv.lockto the repo for deterministic installs across machines - Use PEP 735 dependency groups (
[dependency-groups]inpyproject.toml) with adevgroup - Require no environment variables or config files to get started
- Rely on uv to install the correct Python version automatically
| Step | Legacy (2020) | Modern (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Install Python | pyenv install 3.x |
uv handles it |
| Create virtualenv | python -m venv .venv |
uv sync creates it |
| Activate | source .venv/bin/activate |
Not needed (uv run) |
| Install deps | pip install -r requirements-dev.txt |
uv sync --group dev |
| Install package | pip install -e . |
Included in uv sync |
| Run tests | pytest |
uv run pytest |
| Total commands | 5-6 | 2 (clone + sync) |
Task Automation with Makefile
Wrap every common operation in a Makefile target. Contributors type make test instead of remembering uv run pytest --cov --cov-report=term-missing -x -v. Use make help as the default target to make commands discoverable.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
- 3d ago First seen · 185 lines · 96 tokens per session scan A 1956ea9d0f4d
developer-experience is a skill published in the GitHub repository oborchers/fractional-cto (32 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 96 tokens to every session and 2,318 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-13.
