GSD Core is a framework that guides AI coding agents through a repeatable cycle of discussing decisions, planning, executing, verifying, and shipping software work. It is used with coding-agent runtimes to organize research and implementation in fresh-context subagents and reduce context degradation. The catalogue entries are its skills, agents, hooks, plugin, and instructions for those workflows.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00014 | $0.00366 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00007 | $0.00183 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00003 | $0.00073 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00001 | $0.00037 |
Grade A, and why
gsd-manager scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says
Designed for power users who want to parallelize work across phases from one terminal: discuss a phase while another plans or executes in the background.
Creates/Updates:
- No files created directly — dispatches to existing GSD commands via Skill() and background Task agents.
- Reads
.planning/STATE.md,.planning/ROADMAP.md, phase directories for status.
After: User exits when done managing, or all phases complete and milestone lifecycle is suggested.
<execution_context>
@/.claude/gsd-core/workflows/manager.md
@/.claude/gsd-core/references/ui-brand.md
</execution_context>
Project context, phase list, dependencies, and recommendations are resolved inside the workflow using gsd-tools query init.manager. No upfront context loading needed.
Execute end-to-end. Maintain the dashboard refresh loop until the user exits or all phases complete.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

gsd-manager is a skill published in the GitHub repository open-gsd/gsd-core (9,140 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 14 tokens to every session and 366 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.

Install and configure the GitHub CLI (gh) for AI agent environments where gh may not be pre-installed and git remotes use local proxies instead of github.com. Provides auto-install script with SHA256 verification and GITHUBTOKEN auth with anonymous fallback. Use when gh command not found, shutil.which("gh") returns…
write-milestone-brief
Synthesize the current conversation into a milestone brief (PRD). Writes to M###-CONTEXT.md by default, or files a GitHub issue only with explicit user confirmation. Use when asked to "turn this into a PRD", "draft a milestone brief", "capture this context", "write it up", or when enough has been discussed to commit…
spike-wrap-up
Package findings from a completed spike into a durable project-local skill that auto-loads on future similar work. Reads the latest .gsd/workflows/spikes/ dir, interviews the user on what's reusable, then writes .agents/skills/ /SKILL.md. Use when asked to "wrap up the spike", "package this as a skill", "make this…
