Orkas is a desktop application for commanding a team of AI agents through one chat, with a commander model assigning work to specialist agents in parallel or in sequence. People use it to coordinate research, writing, presentations, and software tasks while keeping files on their computer. The catalogue includes skills for extending the agents available to Orkas.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00003 | $0.00719 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00002 | $0.00360 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00001 | $0.00144 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00000 | $0.00072 |
Grade A, and why
office-ppt scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 56 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Office PowerPoint
Tool Route
Use the bundled Office tools as the default path. Do not install OfficeCLI or python-pptx when these tools are available.
- Use
read_fileswith onepathsitem for broad content inspection; usemetadata_only:truewhen only prepared metadata is needed. - Use
create_pptxfor a straightforward new deck. Route a high-design presentation or full narrative strategy to the presentation-making workflow. - Use
office_readwithoutline,get, orqueryto identify slides and shapes before editing. - Pass the pre-existing source directly to
edit_office; it creates the separate working copy. Useoutput_pathin that one edit call when a human-facing final name is desired. - After every create or edit, use
office_reviewwithaction:"check_and_render"on every changed slide and representative unchanged slides.
The built-in engine supports .pptx, not legacy .ppt. Require conversion before editing a legacy file.
edit_office.operations accepts only set, add, and remove. After
office_read returns the exact stale shape path, remove it with this shape:
{
"path": "annual-review.pptx",
"output_path": "annual-review-cleaned.pptx",
"operations": [
{
"action": "remove",
"path": "/slide[4]/shape[3]"
}
]
}
Do not create the automatic -edited output and then copy or rename it with
bash, write_file, or another file tool. One requested final deck means one
new PPTX in the workspace and one published PPTX path.
Preservation Rules
- Inspect slide order, layouts, placeholders, masters, theme fonts/colors, notes, comments, charts, media, and transitions before editing an existing deck.
- Prefer stable element paths returned by
office_read; do not guess shape indices when a stable id or name is available. - Preserve masters, layouts, relationships, notes, animations, media, and embedded data unless the user explicitly asks to change them.
- Treat global replacement as high impact. Use a precise target whenever possible and verify every changed slide.
- If the exposed tools cannot safely express a master, animation, embedded-object, or complex chart edit, report the limitation rather than silently flattening it.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

office-ppt is a skill published in the GitHub repository Orkas-AI/Orkas (1,911 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 3 tokens to every session and 719 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
