wps

wps is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Orkas-AI/Orkas. It costs 1 tokens per session (714 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Compatibility guidance for working with Microsoft Office files in WPS Office. It explains how to handle Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files and sets limits for proprietary WPS formats.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when reading, creating, editing, or checking .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files for WPS compatibility.
Why use it?
It prevents unsupported WPS files from being treated as if they were directly editable and highlights the need for compatible working copies.

About the project

Orkas is a desktop application for commanding a team of AI agents through one chat, with a commander model assigning work to specialist agents in parallel or in sequence. People use it to coordinate research, writing, presentations, and software tasks while keeping files on their computer. The catalogue includes skills for extending the agents available to Orkas.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00001 $0.00714
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00357
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00143
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00071

Security

Grade A, and why

wps scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

WPS Compatibility

Capability Boundary

Use office-word, office-excel, or office-ppt for the artifact-specific workflow, and apply the WPS compatibility checks in this skill.

The built-in engine directly reads, creates, edits, checks, and renders .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx. It does not automate the WPS desktop UI and does not directly edit proprietary .wps, .et, or .dps files. Require a converted modern-Office working copy for those formats, and never report a WPS GUI action or export as completed unless it was actually performed and verified.

For an attached proprietary .wps, .et, or .dps capability-boundary request, first call read_files with the actual supplied workspace path and metadata_only:true. If no converted modern-Office copy exists, preserve the source and give the complete user-visible boundary result with the required converted copy or target-WPS action and review needs. End with the group protocol's required capability-boundary handback. Do not request file content from the proprietary binary, publish an empty output set, search for or run shell/process conversion, create a placeholder, ask another actor to retry the unsupported edit, or claim that anything was edited or saved.

Use create_pdf with source_type:"markdown" or source_type:"html" for a new PDF. For a PDF derived from an Office source, prefer editing the source file and regenerating the PDF. Exact WPS export behavior still requires review in the target WPS version.

Workflow

  1. Confirm the artifact type, target WPS version/operating system when fidelity matters, and whether the deliverable is editable, print-ready, or PDF.
  2. Work on a copy. Inspect the modern Office file with office_read, edit with edit_office, then call office_review with action:"check_and_render" and representative pages or slides.
  3. Stabilize global settings before local formatting: page size, margins, orientation, fonts, theme/master, headers/footers, print area, and scaling.
  4. Check Chinese-office conventions such as A4 layout, CJK font fallback, heading hierarchy, paragraph spacing, numbering, page breaks, tables, signatures, seals, and print pagination.
  5. State every item that still requires manual confirmation in WPS, especially font substitution, formulas, charts, animations, embedded media, print layout, and PDF export.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

wps is a skill published in the GitHub repository Orkas-AI/Orkas (1,885 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 1 tokens to every session and 714 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
