RIPDPI: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/golden-test-management/SKILL.md

golden-test-management is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from po4yka/RIPDPI. It costs 46 tokens per session (2,284 once invoked), scanned A, original, BSD-3-Clause.

A workflow for managing golden tests, which compare current output with approved fixture files, sometimes called snapshots. It covers where fixtures live, how failures produce diffs, and how to intentionally update a fixture.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when a golden or snapshot test fails, when adding a fixture, or when reviewing telemetry, diagnostics, strategy, or exported-data output changes.
Why use it?
It prevents tests from silently accepting changed output and helps distinguish a real regression from an expected update. It also keeps changing fixtures an explicit action.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.02284
Opus 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00914
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00457
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00228

Security

Grade A, and why

golden-test-management scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Golden Test Management

Golden contracts enforce compatibility for telemetry, diagnostics events, strategy-probe progress/report payloads, and exported data. Fixtures are read-only by default -- tests fail on unexpected diffs. Bless with RIPDPI_BLESS_GOLDENS=1 to update.

Full documentation: docs/testing.md (Golden contracts section).

Fixture Locations

Layer Location Examples
Rust native/rust/crates/{crate}/tests/golden/ android-support, ripdpi-android, ripdpi-tunnel-android, ripdpi-monitor-engine
JVM core/{module}/src/test/resources/golden/ engine, service, diagnostics
Android instrumentation app/src/androidTest/assets/golden/ Copies of JVM fixtures for on-device smoke tests

Environment Variables

Variable Purpose Default
RIPDPI_BLESS_GOLDENS Set to any value to write fixtures instead of comparing Not set (read-only)
RIPDPI_GOLDEN_ARTIFACT_DIR Override diff artifact output directory target/golden-diffs (Rust), build/golden-diffs/ (JVM)

Blessing Workflow

This section is the only bless procedure in the repository; other skills, agents, and docs link here.

Authorization. Run a bless or record command only after the user explicitly authorizes blessing in the current conversation and names the fixture family or path (.claude/rules/golden-bless-discipline.md). A failing golden is not authorization. Use the golden-blesser agent in an isolated worktree, run only the narrow owning command, and inspect the full diff before committing.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

golden-test-management is a skill published in the GitHub repository po4yka/RIPDPI (85 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed BSD-3-Clause. It adds 46 tokens to every session and 2,284 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
