preset-admin

preset-admin is a skill for Claude Code from preset-io/agent-skills. It costs 45 tokens per session (537 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A skill for administering Preset teams and workspaces through the Preset Management API. It handles membership, invitations, roles, seat checks, workspace details, and audit logs, with confirmation required for access-changing actions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect memberships and roles, look up workspace or user identifiers, prepare access-change requests, and manage approved invites or role changes.
Why use it?
It helps resolve the correct teams, users, workspaces, and role identifiers before making administrative changes. This reduces the chance of changing access for the wrong target.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.00537
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00269
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00107
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00054

Security

Grade A, and why

preset-admin scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (examples/team_memberships.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

preset-admin

Use for Preset Management API administration beyond read-only workspace discovery.

Always

  • Auth and conventions come from preset-api (JWT exchange, base URLs, Rison); resolve the workspace hostname through the Management API when it is not already known.
  • Default to read-only preflight and ID/role lookup.
  • Resolve team, workspace, user, invite, and role identifiers from API responses before mutations.
  • Get explicit confirmation before role changes, invites, member removals, workspace lifecycle actions, audit downloads, or any write.
  • Use preset-roles-permissions for permission-sensitive role/access changes.

Decision Rules

  • Classify membership role and invite changes as approval-gated mutations.
  • Use metadata reads for membership, role, invite, and audit inspection.
  • Require target and effect summary before any access change.
  • Avoid applying invite or member role changes until approval is explicit.

Workflow Order

  1. Identify team, workspace, user, invite, member, and role identifiers.
  2. Inspect membership, role, invite, and audit metadata.
  3. Prepare approval summary with target and expected effect.
  4. Stop before invite, member role, removal, or workspace change.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
