soros-reflexivity

soros-reflexivity is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from questflowai/investorskills. It costs 35 tokens per session (538 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An investing framework based on George Soros’s idea of reflexivity: market beliefs and prices can reinforce each other and create unstable booms, busts, or dislocations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to analyse macroeconomic shifts, currencies, interest rates, credit, stock indexes, commodities, crowded positions, policy changes, and asymmetric trades.
Why use it?
It helps examine whether a market narrative is feeding back into prices, where that loop could break, and how to define a trade’s invalidation point and risk.

About the project

Investor Skills is an open-source library that organizes investing judgment—such as evaluating opportunities, managing risk, and acting under uncertainty—into structured, reusable instructions for people and AI finance agents. It is designed for studying and applying investment approaches, including inside Questflow and other agent tools. The catalogue includes portable skill packages from the library.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00035 $0.00538
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00269
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00108
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00054

Security

Grade A, and why

soros-reflexivity scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Soros Reflexivity

Use this skill to apply George Soros-style reflexivity: identify where participant beliefs and market prices reinforce each other, test whether the feedback loop is unstable, and structure asymmetric macro trades with explicit invalidation.

When To Use

Use this skill when the user asks for:

  • Macro dislocation analysis
  • Reflexive boom/bust dynamics
  • Currency, rates, credit, equity index, or commodity regime shifts
  • Crowded positioning and squeeze risk
  • Asymmetric trade structuring

Trigger phrases include Soros, reflexivity, macro dislocation, feedback loop, boom bust, asymmetric, policy shift, and positioning.

Do Not Use When

  • The opportunity has no identifiable feedback loop.
  • The trade cannot be expressed with clear invalidation.
  • Liquidity is too poor to exit.
  • The user wants passive long-term ownership analysis.

Inputs Needed

  • Market or macro theme
  • Price trend, positioning, consensus narrative, and policy backdrop
  • Key economic or liquidity data
  • Catalyst path and time horizon
  • Trade expression, stop level, and risk budget if available

Process

  1. Define the prevailing belief and the underlying reality.
  2. Identify the feedback loop between prices, fundamentals, behavior, and policy.
  3. Decide whether the loop is self-reinforcing, self-correcting, or breaking.
  4. Test asymmetry: downside if wrong vs upside if the reflexive process accelerates.
  5. Start with a probe if uncertain, add only when the market confirms.
  6. Define invalidation and exit before sizing up.

Guardrails

  • Do not call every trend reflexive.
  • Do not size big before the market confirms.
  • Do not hold after the thesis stops working.
  • Do not ignore policy response.
  • Do not confuse being contrarian with being right.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
