graph-engineer: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/invariant-check/SKILL.md

invariant-check is a skill for Claude Code from Ranteck/graph-engineer. It costs 84 tokens per session (269 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A documentation consistency check for a graph-engineering skill, its README, reference files, and the project’s stated invariants. Invariants are rules that must remain true across those documents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after changing the skill instructions, README, or referenced guidance, or when auditing them, to check items such as the node cycle, entry point, version pin, triage process, loop cutoff, and goal-template location.
Why use it?
Documentation can quietly become contradictory after edits. This check finds disagreements before the documents are treated as reliable instructions.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: disable-model-invocation in frontmatter. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions subagents; mentions Codex.

This is Ranteck/graph-engineer's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on graph-engineer itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything graph-engineer configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00084 $0.00269
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00108
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

invariant-check scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Invariant Check

Dispatch the doc-consistency-reviewer subagent to audit the current state of the docs against the invariants list in /CLAUDE.md, then relay its findings verbatim (or "no issues found").

This repo has no build/test/lint step — this skill is the closest thing to a test suite it has, so run it after any non-trivial edit to SKILL.md, README.md, or a file under skills/graph-engineer/references/, and before committing doc changes.

Do not attempt to fix anything yourself as part of this skill — report only. If the reviewer finds a real mismatch, tell the user which files disagree and let them decide the fix (which version pin is current, which node name is correct, etc.) — these are content decisions, not mechanical ones.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
