dryui-build

dryui-build is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from rob-balfre/dryui. It costs 43 tokens per session (832 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A layout-prototyping skill that turns a screenshot or mockup into labeled colored blocks. It defines how page regions appear and move across mobile, tablet, and desktop sizes.

In plain words
What is it for?
It maps page regions, spacing, and breakpoint changes, then builds a structural prototype in the specified Svelte files. It is for checking which areas merge, move, appear, or disappear at different widths.
Why use it?
It makes responsive behavior explicit before detailed UI work begins. This helps prevent a mobile layout from being reused accidentally on larger screens.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.00832
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00416
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00166
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00083

Security

Grade A, and why

dryui-build scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

DryUI Layout Blocks: Breakpoint Blueprint

Build only a structural page prototype: labelled colored blocks that prove layout. Do not build finished UI.

Edit only:

  • src/routes/+page.svelte
  • src/layout.css

No imports. No @dryui/ui, Lucide, icons, SVGs, images, charts, tables, forms, buttons, inputs, avatars, or final widgets.

Required Thinking Order

Before coding, derive a compact breakpoint blueprint from the supplied design:

  1. List the repeated chrome regions visible in mobile, tablet, and desktop.
  2. List the content regions visible at each breakpoint.
  3. Decide which regions merge, move, appear, or disappear between breakpoints.
  4. Identify the primary region at each breakpoint.
  5. Decide spacing mode: contiguous, guttered, or mixed.

Then implement the blueprint. Do not let the mobile source order become the desktop layout by accident; every breakpoint must be intentionally mapped.

Page Shell

For a full page, use exactly this shell shape:

<main data-layout="<name>-shell">
	<div data-layout-area="page">
		<!-- semantic regions here -->
	</div>
</main>

Every direct child of page must have a meaningful data-layout-area. Use semantic elements such as header, nav, section, aside, and footer.

Layout CSS

All grid, flex, container, spacing, alignment, and block-size rules go in src/layout.css.

Required pattern:

[data-layout='<name>-shell'] {
	container: <name> / inline-size;
}

[data-layout='<name>-shell'] [data-layout-area='page'] {
	display: grid;
	grid-template-areas:
		'topbar'
		'navigation'
		'primary'
		'secondary'
		'utility';
}

@container <name> (min-width: 48rem) {
}
@container <name> (min-width: 72rem) {
}

The container name and @container name must match exactly.

Breakpoint Rules

  • Base CSS is mobile and must be one column only.
  • Tablet at 48rem must visibly use extra width. Put related secondary/support regions beside the primary region only when readable.
  • Desktop at 72rem must match the reference composition, not just widen the tablet. If the design has a left rail, sidebar, right rail, split workspace, or fixed action/footer area, represent it in the desktop grid.
  • Use minmax(0, 1fr) for content tracks.
  • Keep the primary region visually dominant through grid tracks and min-block-size.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
