automation-pilot-mcp-server-generation

automation-pilot-mcp-server-generation is a skill for Claude Code from SAP/automation-pilot-agent-skills. It costs 48 tokens per session (4,691 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guide for creating SAP Automation Pilot MCP server definitions. MCP servers are configurations that let AI assistants call Automation Pilot commands as tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define server tools, set their instructions and settings, and deploy the resulting configurations.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork from structuring, configuring, and deploying these definitions through the API.

About the project

SAP Automation Pilot is an automation engine for SAP Business Technology Platform in which Commands define operational workflows. SAP teams use it to generate, review, deploy, run, monitor, and troubleshoot these automations. The catalogue skills provide an AI-assisted workflow for developing and operating SAP Automation Pilot Commands.

SkillSpector: 2 findings, up to high

These are SkillSpector’s own severities. On a checked sample its high-severity flags on skills were ~96% false positives — a documented command, a public API, a “never do X” rule — so we show them as a caution to read, not a verdict. Why →

  • high Agent Snooping · line 382
    Skill accesses MCP server configuration files (mcp.json). MCP configs contain server URLs, authentication tokens, and tool definitions — reading them allows the skill to discover and potentially abuse other tool integrations.
    Fix: Remove all code or instructions that read MCP configuration files (mcp.json). MCP server details should be managed by the agent runtime, not read by individual skills.
  • medium Data Exfiltration · line 398
    Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.
    Fix: Verify the destination URL is trusted and necessary. Remove or replace with documented APIs. Ensure no secrets, tokens, or PII are transmitted.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00048 $0.04691
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.02346
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00938
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00469

Security

Grade A, and why

automation-pilot-mcp-server-generation scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

SAP Automation Pilot MCP Server Definition Generator

This skill guides the creation of MCP server definitions for SAP Automation Pilot. MCP server definitions are JSON files that expose Automation Pilot commands as MCP tools, allowing AI assistants to invoke them directly.

JSON Schema

Top-Level Structure

Every MCP server definition follows this structure:

{
  "name": "kebab-case-server-name",
  "enabled": true,
  "instructions": "<Natural-language description for the AI>",
  "mcpTools": [ ...tool objects... ]
}
Field Type Description
name string Kebab-case identifier (e.g., cf-app-management). Must match filename without .json. No spaces.
enabled boolean Activates/deactivates the entire server
instructions string Natural-language guidance for the AI on what this server does and when to use it
mcpTools array Array of tool definitions (1 or more)

Tool Object Structure

Each entry in mcpTools uses exactly this schema — all fields are required:

{
  "commandId": "<catalog>-<suffix>:<CommandName>:<version>",
  "name": "<snake_case_tool_name>",
  "enabled": true,
  "inputReferences": [
    "<catalog>-<<<TENANT_ID>>>:<InputName>:<version>"
  ],
  "tags": {},
  "title": "<Title Case Label>",
  "destructiveHint": false,
  "idempotentHint": false,
  "openWorldHint": true,
  "readOnlyHint": false
}
Field Type Description
commandId string Reference to an Automation Pilot command: <catalog>-<suffix>:<CommandName>:<version>
name string Snake_case identifier exposed to the MCP protocol (e.g., list_orgs, create_snapshot)
enabled boolean Enable/disable individual tool (set false to include but not activate)
inputReferences string[] Array of credential/input references injected at runtime. Use [] if credentials are embedded in the command.
tags object Always {} (reserved for future use)
title string Title Case human-readable label (e.g., "List Transport Nodes")
destructiveHint boolean Signals the tool deletes or permanently alters state
idempotentHint boolean Signals the tool is safe to call repeatedly with the same result
openWorldHint boolean Signals the tool discovers across a landscape vs. targeting a known resource
readOnlyHint boolean Signals the tool only reads data, never modifies state

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

automation-pilot-mcp-server-generation is a skill published in the GitHub repository SAP/automation-pilot-agent-skills (11 stars, last pushed 8d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 48 tokens to every session and 4,691 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
