jetson-pc-wired-share

jetson-pc-wired-share is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Seeed-Projects/Seeed-Jetson-DevelopTool. It costs 67 tokens per session (916 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A temporary NetworkManager setup that shares a Linux PC's internet connection with a directly connected Jetson over Ethernet. It preserves an existing static-IP SSH connection while sharing the connection.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to start, check, or stop PC-to-Jetson internet sharing while inspecting routes, interfaces, and address conflicts first.
Why use it?
It lets the Jetson reach the internet without replacing the wired link used to administer it, and is designed to be stopped and reversed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00067 $0.00916
Opus 5.5 $0.00027 $0.00366
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00183
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00092

Security

Grade B, and why

jetson-pc-wired-share scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

Jetson PC wired internet sharing

Use a separate, non-autoconnecting NetworkManager profile on the PC. Keep the original wired profile intact so the operation is easy to reverse. Never put a sudo or SSH password in this skill, a connection profile, a script, or a log.

Start sharing

  1. Inspect before changing anything:

    • nmcli device status, active connections, ip -br addr, and ip route.
    • ip route get <jetson-ip> to identify the PC interface carrying SSH.
    • The Jetson's interface, address, routes, and DNS over the existing SSH link.
    • Confirm the PC has a working upstream/default route on a different interface.
  2. Determine the downstream PC address:

    • If the Jetson already has a static address and SSH uses the wired subnet, preserve the PC's existing address and subnet. This avoids losing SSH.
    • Otherwise choose an unused RFC1918 /24 that does not overlap any PC or Jetson route; NetworkManager's usual 10.42.0.1/24 is acceptable only after checking for conflicts.
  3. Create or update a profile named jetson-wired-share on the downstream interface. Set connection.autoconnect no, ipv4.method shared, the chosen ipv4.addresses, ipv4.never-default yes, and ipv6.method disabled. Then activate it. Do not edit or delete the original wired profile. Example shape:

sudo nmcli connection add type ethernet \
      ifname <pc-wired-interface> con-name jetson-wired-share autoconnect no \
      ipv4.method shared ipv4.addresses <pc-address/cidr> \
      ipv4.never-default yes ipv6.method disabled
    sudo nmcli connection up jetson-wired-share

If that profile already exists, use nmcli connection modify instead of creating a duplicate. Warn that activation may briefly flap the wired link.

  4. Configure the Jetson without making its static profile persistent unless the user explicitly asks. For an already-static Jetson, add a runtime route:

sudo ip route replace default via <pc-wired-ip> dev <jetson-interface> metric 100

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

jetson-pc-wired-share is a skill published in the GitHub repository Seeed-Projects/Seeed-Jetson-DevelopTool (56 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 67 tokens to every session and 916 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-24.
