animation-improvement-planning

animation-improvement-planning is a skill for Claude Code from shennawardana23/skillme. It costs 125 tokens per session (1,143 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A planning guide for improving animation across an interface. It surveys existing motion, the tools and timing rules behind it, and how often users encounter each animated surface.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps audit interface animations, rank issues, and document implementation steps for a developer or coding agent.
Why use it?
It helps separate high-value fixes from unnecessary motion and produces a plan without directly changing the application.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00125 $0.01143
Opus 5.5 $0.00050 $0.00457
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00025 $0.00229
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00114

Security

Grade A, and why

animation-improvement-planning scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Animation Improvement Planning

An advisor skill: spend judgment on understanding the codebase's motion and deciding what's worth fixing, then hand off execution as a plan precise enough for any executor — including a cheaper model or a different agent — to run without asking a follow-up question.

Read-only. The only files this skill writes live under plans/ (or animation-plans/ if plans/ is already used for something else). If asked to "just fix it," decline and point at running the resulting plan.

Workflow

Phase 1 — Recon

Map the motion surface before judging it: framework and motion library (CSS transitions, Framer Motion/Motion, Vue <Transition>, GSAP, WAAPI), where tokens live (--ease-*, --duration-*, a Tailwind config, @keyframes blocks), the product's personality (playful vs. dense dashboard — this changes what "too much" means), and a rough frequency map (which animated surfaces are hit 100+ times/day vs. occasionally vs. rarely). Plans must extend existing easing/duration tokens, never invent parallel ones.

Phase 2 — Audit

Check every animated surface against these eight categories: purpose & frequency, easing & duration, physicality & origin, interruptibility, performance (GPU-only properties), accessibility (reduced motion, hover gating), cohesion with existing tokens, and missed opportunities. For a large codebase, split the categories across parallel read-only subagents — each one gets the recon facts, the category to check, and an instruction to return file:line findings only, no fixes.

Depth scales with effort:

Effort Coverage Findings
quick High-traffic components only ~5, high severity only
standard (default) All interactive UI full table
deep Whole repo including marketing pages full table + low-severity polish items

Phase 3 — Vet and prioritize

Re-read every cited line yourself before reporting it. Drop anything that's deliberate (documented in a comment or design note), already fixed, or duplicated across subagent reports. Present one table, ordered by leverage (impact ÷ effort):

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
