foundation-api

foundation-api is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from skyciv/skyciv-ai-skills. It costs 177 tokens per session (1,345 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An API guide for designing and checking reinforced-concrete piles, which are deep foundation supports, with SkyCiv. It covers supported design standards, units, load cases, and the required API session and request format.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to send pile design and checking requests for ACI 318-14, AS 3600-2018, or Eurocode calculations through SkyCiv's Foundation API.
Why use it?
It helps prevent using the wrong SkyCiv session, request shape, or unsupported foundation type. The API currently supports piles, not pad or combined footings.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is [`skyciv-api-v3`](../skyciv-api-v3/SKILL.md) skill for auth, `options` and the request/response envelope..

Good fit Use it to send pile design and checking requests for ACI 318-14, AS 3600-2018, or Eurocode calculations through SkyCiv's Foundation API.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00177 $0.01345
Opus 5.5 $0.00071 $0.00538
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00035 $0.00269
Haiku 4.5 $0.00018 $0.00135

Security

Grade A, and why

foundation-api scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Foundation Design API (piles)

Design and check reinforced concrete piles with the SkyCiv Foundation module via the standalone.foundation API.

Prerequisite: start the session with standalone.foundation.start, not S3D.session.start. See the skyciv-api-v3 skill for auth, options and the request/response envelope. If you also need an S3D model (e.g. to get column reactions), run that in a separate session.

Only piles are supported through the API at the moment. Pad footings (isolated_foundation) and combined footings (combined_foundation) are not: don't send them; tell the user instead.

Request

{
  "auth": { "username": "...", "key": "..." },
  "options": { "validate_input": true },
  "functions": [
    { "function": "standalone.foundation.start", "arguments": { "keep_open": false } },
    { "function": "standalone.foundation.check", "arguments": { "1": { "settings": { "...": "..." } } } }
  ]
}

arguments holds the foundations keyed by ID ("1", "2", ...).

Use the input format of the samples in assets/. Don't add settings.version, and don't send a file exported from the current Foundation Designer as it is: those calls time out or never return.

Set options.validate_input: true so bad keys and values come back as clear error messages before the design runs.

Supported piles

settings.type settings.code settings.units
piles_foundation ACI_318_2014 metric, imperial
AS_3600_2018, EN metric

Loads

loads is keyed by column ID ("1"). It holds the load cases for the code, each with axial, shear_x, shear_z (kN / kip) and moment_x, moment_z (kN-m / kip-ft):

Code Load case keys
ACI DL, LL, W, E, LR, RL, SL
AS 3600 G, Q, Wu, Eu, Su
EN G, Ql, Qw, Qe, Qs, Qt

Custom loads

To give factored and service loads directly, set parameters.others.custom_load: true and use:

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

foundation-api is a skill published in the GitHub repository skyciv/skyciv-ai-skills (11 stars, last pushed 15d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 177 tokens to every session and 1,345 once invoked, about $0.0007 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-13.
