paper-draft

paper-draft is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from skyllwt/AutoSci. It costs 31 tokens per session (3,500 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool that turns a paper plan into a complete LaTeX research paper, including sections, figures, tables, and references.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to draft selected or complete paper sections from wiki sources, create figures and tables, fetch and verify BibTeX references, and produce a paper directory.
Why use it?
It removes much of the repetitive work of assembling a compilable paper and checking its bibliography. LaTeX is a document system widely used for technical and academic papers.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00031 $0.03500
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.01750
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00700
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00350

Security

Grade A, and why

paper-draft scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/paper-draft

Draft a complete LaTeX paper from the PAPER_PLAN.md generated by /paper-plan. Write section by section: each section draws material from wiki ideas/methods/experiments/papers/concepts, generates LaTeX + figures + tables. BibTeX is fetched from DBLP/CrossRef (following citation-verification). Apply de-AI polish after completion (following academic-writing). Optional per-section Review LLM review. Output a compilable paper/ directory.

Inputs

  • plan: path to PAPER_PLAN.md (e.g. wiki/outputs/paper-plan-sparse-lora-2026-04-08.md)
  • --review (optional): enable per-section Review LLM review
  • --sections (optional): write only specified sections (e.g. --sections 3,4 writes only Method + Experiments); used for incremental writing

Outputs

  • paper/ directory (under the wiki project root):
    • paper/main.tex — master file (includes each section)
    • paper/sections/introduction.tex
    • paper/sections/related_work.tex
    • paper/sections/method.tex
    • paper/sections/experiments.tex
    • paper/sections/conclusion.tex
    • paper/sections/appendix.tex (if applicable)
    • paper/figures/ — generated figures (PDF/PNG)
    • paper/tables/ — standalone table files (optional)
    • paper/math_commands.tex — shared math symbol definitions
    • paper/references.bib — verified BibTeX entries
  • wiki/log.md — appended log entry

Wiki Interaction

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

paper-draft is a skill published in the GitHub repository skyllwt/AutoSci (1,659 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 3,500 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
