ct

ct is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from somnus0x/agt-skill-pack. It costs 87 tokens per session (1,920 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A Git workflow command that creates a commit and an annotated version tag, using commit messages to choose the version change. Git is the system that records code history; a tag names a specific point in that history.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to commit existing changes, create patch, minor, major, or pre-release tags, and print the command for pushing them.
Why use it?
It gives you a named save point for shipped work and makes the intended version easier to identify.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00087 $0.01920
Opus 5.5 $0.00035 $0.00768
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00384
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00192

Security

Grade A, and why

ct scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CT — Save Points For Code You Already Shipped

Production breaks at 4pm. The first question is not "what version is this", it's "what's the last point I can get back to." If you can't answer that, you're reading git log backwards with shaking hands, which is the worst possible time to be reading git log.

If you ship many times a day, a tag is not a release ceremony. It's a save point. Same idea as saving before you close the game: cheap to make, and the only thing that matters is that one exists near where you are.

/ct is one command: commit, name the save point by reading your own commits, cut an annotated tag carrying what's inside it, print the push command, stop.

The version number is just the naming scheme. It sorts, and it hints at what changed between two points. Nobody is auditing whether your MINOR was truly a MINOR.

Why nobody makes save points

Skipping it never produces an error. Everything still works. The entire cost arrives at once, three weeks later, on the worst day. So it's the first thing dropped when you're moving fast, which is exactly when you're generating the most to roll back through.

AI makes that worse in a straightforward way: commits per day go up three or four times, and a ritual that was survivable at 8 commits a day is not survivable at 30.

Why the bump is auto-detected, not asked

If the AI asks "patch, minor, or major?" you will answer patch every time, because patch is the answer that ends the conversation. Ask enough times and you stop making save points at all.

So /ct doesn't ask. It reads the commit subjects since the last tag and applies the rule:

  • BREAKING CHANGE: in a footer, or ! after the type (feat!:, fix(api)!:) → MAJOR
  • feat: → MINOR
  • fix: / perf: → PATCH
  • only docs: / chore: / ci: / style: / test: / refactor: → PATCH

Highest level wins. feat: plus fix: is a MINOR.

The 0.x rule: while the major version is 0, a breaking change bumps MINOR instead of MAJOR. In 0.x everything is allowed to break, and burning v1.0.0 on a rename you made in week two is a version number you can't get back.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ct is a skill published in the GitHub repository somnus0x/agt-skill-pack (74 stars, last pushed 18d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 87 tokens to every session and 1,920 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-12.
