talk-to

talk-to is a skill for Claude Code from Soul-Brews-Studio/arra-oracle-skills-cli. It costs 82 tokens per session (2,570 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for sending messages to another Oracle agent through persistent conversation threads. Oracle agents are separate software agents that can communicate through shared channels.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to contact an agent, ask about its work, follow up in a thread, list communication channels, or run an ongoing conversation.
Why use it?
It gives one command for starting or continuing agent conversations and supports different delivery methods, including real-time and offline messaging.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.02570
Opus 5 $0.00041 $0.01285
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00514
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00257

Security

Grade A, and why

talk-to scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/talk-to - Agent Messaging

Send messages to agents via Oracle threads. Each agent has a persistent channel thread.

Messaging consolidation (2026-07-06): /hey, /contacts, /mailbox, and /inbox were archived to the zombie tier — this skill is the one messaging verb now. For real-time tmux pings use maw hey directly (or --maw here). Archived skills remain installable via arra install -s <name>.

Usage

/talk-to arthur "What's your status?"          # one-shot message
/talk-to arthur --new "Hey, starting fresh" # skip lookup, create new thread
/talk-to arthur loop ask about their work # autonomous conversation
/talk-to #42 "follow up on this" # post to thread by ID
/talk-to --list                                # show channels
/talk-to arthur --maw "quick ping" # force maw transport (real-time tmux)
/talk-to arthur --thread "async question" # force MCP thread transport
/talk-to arthur --inbox "offline message" # force inbox transport (file write)

Mode 0: No arguments

If ARGUMENTS is empty, show usage help then run --list.

Step 0: Contacts Lookup

Always read contacts first. This is the source of truth for agent routing.

date "+🕐 %H:%M %Z (%A %d %B %Y)"
CONTACTS="$(pwd)/ψ/contacts.json"
if [ ! -f "$CONTACTS" ]; then
  # Fallback path
  CONTACTS="$(pwd)/.oracle/contacts.json"
fi

if [ -f "$CONTACTS" ]; then
  MAW=$(jq -r ".contacts.\"$AGENT\".maw // empty" "$CONTACTS")
  INBOX=$(jq -r ".contacts.\"$AGENT\".inbox // empty" "$CONTACTS")
  THREAD=$(jq -r ".contacts.\"$AGENT\".thread // empty" "$CONTACTS")
  REPO=$(jq -r ".contacts.\"$AGENT\".repo // empty" "$CONTACTS")
  NOTES=$(jq -r ".contacts.\"$AGENT\".notes // empty" "$CONTACTS")
  FOUND_IN_CONTACTS=true
else
  FOUND_IN_CONTACTS=false
fi

If agent not found in contacts AND not found in maw ls:

I don't know "{agent}".

  /contacts add {agent}    — register transport info
  /talk-to {agent} --thread "message" — try MCP thread anyway

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
