Saiku is an open-source semantic layer that represents data as analytical cubes for browser exploration, SQL queries, dashboards, and AI-agent access. It is for analysts and applications that need to query structured business data through Mondrian, Apache Calcite, REST, or MCP. The catalogue instruction helps agents work with Saiku.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00065 | $0.00511 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00026 | $0.00204 |

Grade A, and why
rebuild-launcher scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
What it actually says
Rebuild the launcher
Two traps make a naive mvn package go wrong here; this sequence avoids both.
- Stop any running launcher first. Its JVM holds the fat-JAR open.
mvn cleandeletes it, and Mondrian's JaninoServiceLoaderthen fails withNoSuchFileException, so every MDX discover/query returns HTTP 500 until you restart.pkill -f 'saiku-launcher/target/saiku-.*\.jar' || true - Clean the webapp and launcher modules. The war overlay never purges old hashed SvelteKit bundles (
_app/immutable/...<hash>.js), so an incremental package ships old and new side by side.mvn -pl saiku-webapp,saiku-launcher clean - Build the fat-JAR. This also runs
npm ci+npm run buildforsaiku-uithrough the frontend plugin.mvn -pl saiku-launcher -am -Dmaven.test.skip=true package - Run it.
UI at http://localhost:8080/ui/, REST at http://localhost:8080/rest/saiku/api/, loginVERSION=$(mvn -q -DforceStdout help:evaluate -Dexpression=project.version) SAIKU_ALLOW_DEFAULT_ADMIN=true java -jar saiku-launcher/target/saiku-$VERSION.jar serve --port 8080 --home ./saiku-homeadmin/admin. WithoutSAIKU_ALLOW_DEFAULT_ADMIN=true(orSAIKU_DEMO=true, or a realSAIKU_ADMIN_PASSWORD) the launcher refuses to boot on the default password.
If you changed the FoodMart seed schema (saiku-launcher/src/main/resources/seed/FoodMart4.xml), an existing saiku-home won't pick it up. Delete saiku-home/data/FoodMart4.xml before relaunching.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

rebuild-launcher is a skill published in the GitHub repository spiculedata/saiku (1,334 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 511 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-29.

business-intelligence
Use when a metric (revenue, MRR, margin) needs defining once in a governed semantic layer so every dashboard, report and agent returns the same number, or when an LLM must answer data questions in plain language without hallucinating SQL. NOT chart layout (that is dashboard), NOT which KPIs to track (that is…
anvil-find-keywords
A research procedure for finding and evaluating game-related search terms across several sources. It checks search results and user intent, then records whether each idea should be pursued, rejected, or reviewed later.
anvil-new-article
A tool that turns supplied material into MDX article pages for AnvilWiki, a wiki site built from structured content files. It fills in page details and checks that the pages follow the site’s rules.
anvil-refresh
A content review tool that finds older or potentially outdated pages in an AnvilWiki game site and produces a prioritized update list.
malloy-model
Build Malloy semantic models with base source and joined source files. Use when creating or modifying .malloy files, user asks to "create a malloy model", "add dimensions", "add measures", "create a source", or any Malloy model authoring task.
malloy-reports
Build or modify a Malloy Publisher report: a .malloy file with an ## artifact tag, written at the package root unless asked otherwise, laid out as a grid (a dashboard, scanned at a glance) or linear (a notebook or data story, read top to bottom), with filter controls rendered from givens and # drill click-through.
