activitykit

activitykit is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from TalissonVitorino/kmp-ios-skills. It costs 168 tokens per session (3,644 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Guidance for showing changing information outside the main iPhone app through Live Activities and the Dynamic Island. These are glanceable Apple UI areas for things such as deliveries, rides, workouts, orders, and transfers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build Live Activities, Dynamic Island layouts, Lock Screen displays, push-driven updates, and supported views for Apple Watch, CarPlay, StandBy, and the Mac menu bar.
Why use it?
It lets users follow an active event from the Lock Screen and other supported Apple surfaces without repeatedly opening the app. It also explains how the activity starts, changes, ends, and receives server updates.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00168 $0.03644
Opus 5 $0.00084 $0.01822
Sonnet 5 $0.00034 $0.00729
Haiku 4.5 $0.00017 $0.00364

Security

Grade A, and why

activitykit scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

ActivityKit — Live Activities & Dynamic Island (iOS)

Real-time, glanceable state (delivery, ride, order, workout, transfer) on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, StandBy, the Apple Watch Smart Stack, the Mac menu bar, and the CarPlay Dashboard. Grounded in Apple's ActivityKit + WidgetKit. iOS 16.1+; targets the iOS 26 era.

  • Widget/timeline counterpart: widgetkit (Home/Lock Screen widgets, timelines, App Groups). Live Activity UI lives in the widget extension and shares the App Group with the app.
  • Server-side push delivery: push-notifications (APNs auth, topics). Interactive buttons in an activity: app-intents (Button(intent:) / Toggle(intent:), no app launch).
  • Shared money formatting in the UI: swift-formatstyle; if the model comes from KMP shared code, keep it a value type crossing the boundary per kmp-ios-integration.

Contents

When it fits (and when not)

  • Fits: a single, live, user-initiated event with a foreseeable end — order/delivery tracking, ride status, a running timer, a transfer clearing, a live score. One activity per real-world event.
  • Doesn't fit: general marketing, always-on dashboards, or content with no end state. The system limits how many activities an app runs and how often they update; abuse gets throttled.
  • Budget: combined ContentState + ActivityAttributes payload must stay ≤ 4 KB. Keep the model tiny — ids and small scalars, not blobs or images.
  • Users can disable Live Activities per-app in Settings — always gate on authorization.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
