callkit

callkit is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from TalissonVitorino/kmp-ios-skills. It costs 208 tokens per session (4,508 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Guidance for adding internet-based phone calls to an iPhone app using Apple's system call screens and incoming-call notifications.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build incoming and outgoing VoIP calls for services such as financial advisers, customer support, or identity verification.
Why use it?
It explains how to make app calls work with the lock screen, background operation, audio handling, recent calls, caller identification, and call blocking.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00208 $0.04508
Opus 5 $0.00104 $0.02254
Sonnet 5 $0.00042 $0.00902
Haiku 4.5 $0.00021 $0.00451

Security

Grade A, and why

callkit scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CallKit + PushKit (iOS)

System call UI for VoIP: native incoming/outgoing screens, lock-screen answer, Recents integration, and caller ID / blocking. Grounded in Apple's CallKit and PushKit frameworks; iOS 26 era.

  • Two frameworks, one flow: PushKit wakes the app for an incoming call; CallKit renders the call and owns the audio session.
  • Non-VoIP push (chat, marketing, transaction alerts) → push-notifications. PushKit VoIP pushes are only for calls and are policed (see below).
  • Caller-ID source data (names/labels for numbers) often comes from contacts-framework or your backend; the Call Directory extension just publishes it.

Contents

Capabilities & Info.plist

  • Background Modes (UIBackgroundModes): voip (PushKit wake) and audio (keep audio alive in background). Without voip, PKPushRegistry never delivers.
  • Push Notifications capability + APNs. VoIP pushes use a VoIP-services APNs auth key/token; the VoIP push token is separate from the standard application(_:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken:) token.
  • Microphone: NSMicrophoneUsageDescription is required or audio capture crashes.
  • Call Directory ships as an app extension target (CXCallDirectoryProvider) with its own bundle id; enable it under Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification (or Settings → Phone on older layouts).
  • CallKit is unavailable in some regions (e.g. mainland China). Guard CXProvider-driven UI and degrade to an in-app screen where it isn't permitted.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
