voice-lab

voice-lab is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from TheMattBerman/openclaw-100k-posts-kit. It costs 31 tokens per session (683 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A writing-analysis skill that turns writing samples or guided answers into a reusable profile of how a creator or brand communicates.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to extract a voice from at least three samples, create one from questions, or refine an existing profile and save it for future content work.
Why use it?
It gives later content tasks concrete guidance about wording, structure, and preferences instead of relying on vague instructions about tone.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00031 $0.00683
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00342
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00137
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00068

Measured 6d ago against content hash 98e230158aa2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

voice-lab scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Voice Lab

Build a voice profile for this repo's content pipeline.

This is not a generic brand exercise. The output should help downstream skills write hooks, angles, and concept bodies that sound like the creator, not like an AI summary.

Output File

Save the final profile to:

~/clawd/workspace/brand/voice-profile.md

If useful observations come up during the process, append them to:

~/clawd/workspace/brand/notes.md

Modes

1. Extract

Use when the user provides 3 or more writing samples.

Goal:

  • infer the creator's voice from real material
  • capture repeatable patterns, not vague adjectives

2. Build

Use when the user has little or no source material.

Goal:

  • ask focused questions
  • build a practical house voice for this project

3. Refine

Use when voice-profile.md already exists.

Goal:

  • preserve what still works
  • tighten weak sections
  • add newly observed phrases, constraints, and platform preferences

Workflow

Step 1: Check for an existing profile

If ~/clawd/workspace/brand/voice-profile.md exists:

  • summarize what it currently says
  • ask whether to refine it or replace it

Step 2: Gather inputs

For Extract mode, collect:

  • writing samples
  • audience description
  • topics they cover often
  • topics or tones they want to avoid

For Build mode, ask about:

  • audience
  • expertise
  • tone
  • level of directness
  • willingness to be contrarian
  • proof style
  • taboo phrases or styles

Step 3: Produce a practical profile

The profile must be useful to content-dna and the-forge.

Include these sections:

# Voice Profile

## Summary

## Audience

## Tone Sliders
- Direct vs soft
- Tactical vs inspirational
- Contrarian vs consensus
- Polished vs conversational

## Writing Rules

## Vocabulary To Lean Into

## Vocabulary To Avoid

## Signature Moves

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

voice-lab is a skill published in the GitHub repository TheMattBerman/openclaw-100k-posts-kit (20 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 683 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
