Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

SkillSpector: 1 finding, up to medium
These are SkillSpector’s own severities. On a checked sample its high-severity flags on skills were ~96% false positives — a documented command, a public API, a “never do X” rule — so we show them as a caution to read, not a verdict. Why →
- medium Agent Snooping · line 81 Skill enumerates or reads other installed skills. Access to other skills' SKILL.md files or the skills directory reveals prompt instructions, capabilities, and secrets that should be invisible to peer skills.Fix: Remove all code or instructions that list or read other skills' files or directories. What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade A, and why
glyphs-mcp-scripting scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 82 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Glyphs MCP scripting
Turn a natural-language idea into the smallest verifiable Python script for the running Glyphs app.
Core rules
- Prefer an existing dedicated MCP tool or domain skill when it already covers
the task. Keep outline-specific fallback code in
glyphs-mcp-outlines-docsand guarded italic fallback code inglyphs-mcp-italic-first-pass. - Read the live server, font, master, glyph, layer, and selection context needed for the request before writing code.
- Search with
docs_search, then fetch only the relevant pages withdocs_getbefore using an unfamiliar GlyphsApp API. Target Glyphs 3.5 and Glyphs 4 unless the user requests one version. - Use
execute_code_with_contextfor glyph- or layer-scoped work. Useexecute_codeonly when injected font, glyph, and layer context is not useful. - Keep code focused, validate every target, make repeat runs safe when
practical, and bound returned output with
max_output_charsandmax_error_chars. - Never call
exit(),quit(), orsys.exit(). Do not install or reload scripts or plug-ins, restart Glyphs, save a font, access files or the network, or launch subprocesses without separate explicit authorization. - Never treat printed output as mutation proof. Re-read affected state with
dedicated MCP tools and optionally inspect
get_document_change_overview.
Workflow
- Form a compact brief from the request:
- exact target and scope
- expected behavior
- permitted effects
- observable success condition
- Resolve missing live context with
get_server_info,list_open_fonts,get_selected_font_and_master, and the smallest relevant selection or inspection tools. Ask only when a consequential target or scope remains ambiguous. - Search and fetch the focused API documentation needed for the script.
- Write the smallest working vertical slice. Validate object existence before reading or changing it, and summarize outcomes as changed, skipped, and failed counts when processing a batch.
- Classify the exact code before execution:
- For clearly read-only code that the user asked to run, execute it and inspect the bounded result.
- For any font mutation or external side effect, first call the matching
execution tool with
snippet_only=true. Show the exact code, targets, and expected changes, then stop for explicit approval.
- Treat the submitted
codeargument as the reviewed executable. Label the returned Macro Panel snippet separately because it wraps that code for manual use. Bind approval to the exact execution tool, code, font/glyph context, remaining arguments, targets, and side-effect scope. - After approval, execute only that unchanged reviewed request. If any bound field changes, generate a new snippet and request approval again.
- For larger layer edits, pair
layer.beginChanges()andlayer.endChanges()intry/finally. Avoid MCP-drivenglyph.beginUndo()/glyph.endUndo()because live Glyphs 4 testing found that those groups can trigger the undo recovery dialog. - Re-read the affected state, compare it with the brief's success condition, and report what ran, what changed, what was skipped, errors, and whether the font remains unsaved.
- On a traceback, reduce to a minimal reproducer and retry once. Stop after a repeated failure and report any state that may already have changed.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

glyphs-mcp-scripting is a skill published in the GitHub repository thierryc/Glyphs-mcp (44 stars, last pushed 25d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 69 tokens to every session and 1,006 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
