skill-026-rsa-description-optimization

skill-026-rsa-description-optimization is a skill for Claude Code from TrueClicks/claude-plugins. It costs 26 tokens per session (595 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for filling all four description fields in responsive search ads, which are Google ads that automatically test different text combinations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reviewing RSA descriptions in Google Ads data and identifying ways to make the four descriptions more varied, complete, and appropriately sized.
Why use it?
It helps find missing descriptions, repeated wording, weak use of the available character limit, and missing benefits or calls to action.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00026 $0.00595
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.00298
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00119
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00060

Measured 5d ago against content hash 2a575a40cd09, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

skill-026-rsa-description-optimization scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill 026: RSA Description Optimization

Purpose

RSAs support 4 descriptions but serve only 2 at a time. Having all 4 slots filled gives the algorithm more combinations to test and improves ad effectiveness. Unfilled description slots directly limit testing and typically result in lower Ad Strength ratings.

Data Requirements

Data Source: Standard

Standard Data:

  • data/account/campaigns/*/*/ads.md - RSA descriptions, headlines, ad strength

Reference GAQL:

SELECT
  campaign.name,
  ad_group.name,
  ad_group_ad.ad.id,
  ad_group_ad.ad.responsive_search_ad.descriptions,
  ad_group_ad.ad_strength,
  ad_group_ad.status,
  metrics.impressions
FROM ad_group_ad
WHERE ad_group_ad.ad.type = 'RESPONSIVE_SEARCH_AD'
  AND ad_group_ad.status != 'REMOVED'
  AND segments.date DURING LAST_30_DAYS

Use /google-ads:get-custom for performance metrics by ad.

Analysis Steps

  1. Count descriptions per RSA: Min required 2, recommended 4, max 4
  2. Assess description quality: Character length utilization (80-90 char optimal), complete sentences
  3. Check diversity: Different angles in each description, avoid repetitive phrasing
  4. Identify missing elements: Benefits, CTAs, differentiators, social proof, offers
  5. Correlate with Ad Strength: Map description count to Ad Strength rating

Thresholds

Condition Severity
Descriptions = 2 Warning
Descriptions = 3 Info
Description < 40 characters Warning
Duplicate descriptions Critical
No CTA in any description Warning

Output

Short (default):

## RSA Description Audit
**Account:** [Name] | **RSAs:** [X] | **Issues:** [Y]

### Critical ([Count])
- **[Campaign] / [Ad Group]**: [X] descriptions, duplicates found -> Replace and add [Y] more

### Warnings ([Count])
- **[Campaign] / [Ad Group]**: [X] descriptions (need [Y] more)

### Summary
| Description Count | RSAs | % |
|-------------------|------|---|
| 4 | X | X% |
| 3 | X | X% |
| 2 | X | X% |

### Recommendations

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
