In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to investigate unusual click bursts, high click-through rates, geographic concentrations, invalid clicks, and possible IP exclusions.
Why use it?
It helps identify wasted budget and reduces the risk of false activity affecting automated bidding, which uses performance data to adjust bids.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00027 $0.00603
Opus 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00241
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00121
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00060

Security

Grade A, and why

skill-118-click-fraud-invalid-traffic-monitoring scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 21d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill 118: Click Fraud and Invalid Traffic Monitoring

Purpose

Monitor for suspicious click patterns indicating click fraud or invalid traffic. Early detection prevents budget waste and protects Smart Bidding from learning on fraudulent data.

Data Requirements

Data Source: Custom GAQL Required

GAQL Query - Click Analysis:

SELECT
  campaign.name,
  segments.date,
  metrics.clicks,
  metrics.impressions,
  metrics.cost_micros,
  metrics.conversions,
  metrics.invalid_clicks,
  metrics.invalid_click_rate
FROM campaign
WHERE segments.date DURING LAST_14_DAYS
  AND campaign.status = 'ENABLED'

GAQL Query - Geographic Analysis:

SELECT
  campaign.name,
  geographic_view.country_criterion_id,
  metrics.clicks,
  metrics.impressions,
  metrics.cost_micros,
  metrics.conversions
FROM geographic_view
WHERE segments.date DURING LAST_30_DAYS

Run via /google-ads:get-custom with query name fraud_detection.

Analysis Steps

  1. Check Invalid Click Metrics: Review Google's invalid click data and refunds
  2. Identify CTR Anomalies: Flag campaigns/periods with CTR >5-10%
  3. Analyze Click Patterns: Look for click bursts, unusual geographic concentration
  4. Cross-Reference Conversions: High clicks with zero conversions = suspicious

Thresholds

Condition Severity
Invalid click rate >5% Critical
CTR >10% on Search, >2% on Display Warning
Click burst (>2 std dev above average) Warning
High clicks from non-target geographies Warning

Output

Short (default):

## Click Fraud Analysis
**Account:** [name] | **Period:** Last 14 days | **Invalid Click Rate:** [%]

### Summary
- **Total Clicks:** [count]
- **Invalid Clicks:** [count] ([%])
- **Google Refunds:** $[amount]

### Suspicious Activity
- **[campaign]**: CTR [%] - Abnormally high
- **[date] [hour]**: [count] clicks in 1 hour - Possible click burst
- **Clicks from [location]**: [count] - Not in target geography

### Recommendations
1. Request manual review from Google for [campaign]
2. Add geographic exclusions for [locations]
3. Consider third-party click fraud protection

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
